    Hello everyone again.

Been off line at home for two weeks and it'll probably be another two whilst Openreach dig up the road to find/fix the fault. Once the annoyance factor dies away it turned out peaceful and restful. It's amazing how much we rely on the Internet these days, especially when I live in a remote area in the middle of a field. Once I found out it would take more than the promised three working days I did a mega complaint and then relaxed!

Back to work today too, drove down to Glasgow this morning and now waiting for a meeting to start.

Will catch up with the previous threads later on this afternoon. Meanwhile, Happy New 2015 everyone. I wish everyone health, wealth and happiness in the coming year.

    Morning all,

another one here back into her normal routine. Hubby and 'Youngest' out at work and the 'Girls' are dozing downstairs.

Back to a more normal eating pattern from now on. The temptation to grab a handful of chocolates instead of eating properly was far too great. Unfortunately I don't eat what the men have for breakfast and although I do their breakfast I generally cant be bothered with my own.

Usual daily chores to be done plus a few extras.

Elona, I hope your dh is ok.

Lovely to see returners to the thread. Ok, I see most of you appear on FB from time to time but its nice to see you where we all originated from. :) That's not a dig by the way as I know these days, time is a luxury not many of us have in copious supplies.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Morning all,

Came as a bit of a shock to the system getting up at half six. Back to normal today. DS2 back to College (in my car) so I have had to use DHs, which I don't like too much.

Had a bit of a declutter and general tidy this morning. Decided I couldn't bear to see DS2's clean clothes just piled on his floor, so I have stuck in all in the cupboard. Out of sight at least but I bet he won't be able to find anything ;)

We went to Croydon Ikea yesterday afternoon even though the Lakeside one is a bit nearer for us. They didn't have all the bits we wanted so will have to visit Lakeside anyway! Popped in to see DD on the way back which was lovely.

Right have a good day all, x

News from the baby house in South Africa.

A sweet 10 month girl was found abandoned on the streets. She is safe from harm and in the arms of my daughter, her partner and the carers.

    Hello All,

One of the girls in my office started a sewing blog over the Christmas period. She makes the most amazing garments and all at a low cost. My favourite items are the cardigan and dress made out of an Ikea Blanket.

Take a look: Sewrendiptiy it makes me want to have a go. it got me thinking, what was the most frugal material you have ever used to make a garment.

    Afternoon all!

I am getting back to basics this year. I used to post on this thread and the OS pleasures regularly and have commited to make time to do so again. It gives me 10 minutes out of my crazy day to take stock and have a little think.

I too was back to it this morning and enjoyed it actually. I was up at 6 (that was hard!) and showered, washed hair, kids up and breakfast, dog walked and all out to school and work. I'm getting organised at work for the coming year and anything I think of (ie I need to put the washer on as soon as in) I am writing down - I am trying to build a schedule up of things I need to do each day of the week.

Feeling chirpy and enjoying life today. Happy 2015 :)

  • Good afternoon all,

Weather here is dry but cold. Yesterday was dreadful with a hard frost and fog which didn't clear until the afternoon.. It seems that no 2 days are the same.

Went to SM this morning with DD and Himself. She didn't need much because she is trying to use everything in the freezer in order to defrost it. I wanted a small casserole because all of mine are quite large going back to when DDs lived at home. I picked up a pyrex one, big enough for us two, for £4 from Asda, so I am pleased with that.

JUDI she is a bonny baby isn't she, she looks well nourished? Poor Mother must have been desperate to abandon her after 10 months, we have no idea, do we, the awful things some people have to live with. I am sure if she is put up for adoption there will be many people who would love to have her. I feel so sorry for her Mum.

It is lovely to see so many new names on the thread.

Lyn, we are on a healthy eating regime as well. We don't normally eat rubbish anyway, but of course over Christmas a few more things were consumed that we wouldn't normally eat. Now that I only eat GF bread, it does mean I don't eat nearly as much bread as I used to. It can be very dry, and also it breaks up easily, so i usually toast it if I want bread.

Himself is going for a routine BP check tomorrow morning. Needless to say he is getting himself worked up about it. We have this every time, he takes tablets for it, but he has "White Coat Syndrome" so when he goes anywhere near a Doctor or Nurse his BP rises. They do know about this and it is on his notes so they take this into account.

There was a great deal more traffic on the roads this morning due to everyone either going back to work or school ( reemember it well) :)

Enjoy the rest of your day.

  • Afternoon,

Normal day at work for me as was in over Xmas and New Year - not repeating that this year I hope!

Took lots of things to tip and charity shops over the weekend, so feel better for the clear out.

Had a lovely email from energy provider to say we are getting a lovely refund and our monthly dd is being reduced by £23!!!!! I was so happy I could've cried! The refund will go towards our weekend away at the end of Jan (we didn't buy Xmas presents as we wanted a night away for a change!) So all that 'turn the lights off', 'do you need the heating on' and making sure the curtains were drawn just before dark has paid off :)

Tonights tea will be ham, egg and chips - ham donated by lovely neighbour who brought round a bag of sliced gammon joint and sliced pork joint that she couldn't possibly have room in her fridge for. We love her!

Menu plan to be done tonight or i'll be all fuddled for the week.

Happy Birthday to anyone celebrating and Happy New Year to you all

    Lou x
But I want a golden goose daddy and I want it right NOW!!!!!

    Yes Verucca dear. :rotfl:

Another one championing for normality here! I’ve been at work over Xmas, but my girlies have spent a lot of it at their dads, so no routine really and I want it back.

They’re not back at school till tomorrow, but I went out yesterday and did a nice grocery shop so there is stuff for them to eat. When it was just me, I tended to live on parp, but hey ho. Will be better now!

Lunch is a tin of soup (only 50p everywhere at the mo!) and bread. My breakie was museli and yogurt. My mum gave me this great cup thing where you can keep them separate and the yogurt/milk cold until you want to eat it.

Dinner tonight is sausages, pasta and a packet sauce that you can only get abroad. Found some in a Polish shop which looks similar, so going to try that tonight.

Dumpling – that sounds exactly like my dad, haha! Always saying he needs to lose weight, you try and help him (he’s diabetic, so really should be watching what he eats) and then he does the same, eats bread before bed!
