So I was right that the retailer are currently "blind" to the issues you've been having? If so then getting them on-board may be tricky (if they are so-minded to be) as they have so far been given no opportunity to offer a remedy, and the matter has previously been taken out of their hands.

    I agree.
And as I said in post#8, in this situation I would expect the seller to insist on the buyer proving that the thing is inherently faulty... as of course is their right anyway.

I would ask for a full refund, as they was no enjoyment in the item as there was fear in that the item may have to go back for repair again, which sounds likes an inherent fault.

Thankyou, my thoughts exactly - having opted for the upper end of the market price-wise its simply not good enough and the same problem keeps on reappearing on a recognized fault from the manufacturer. My £20 kettle has worked everyday without issue for the same length of time so why should i have to put up with this on something the price of a small car? Constantly repairing the same fault so it lasts 12 months before it fails again isnt near good enough, hence why i want my money back, rather than repairing it again.
Ask all you like but it is very, very, VERY unlikely to happen. You will be relying entirely on the good will of the retailer for a refund. Any retailer in their right mind won't refund after 4 years and they are not required to.

Indeed it is the AVR600. Do you have experience with it?

    Ok so an update.

After dealing with Arcam directly again I made it clear the continued problems I was having and it had now developed a fault for a third time. Got a phone call today saying a BRAND NEW replacement will be with me by Friday.

Over four years of use on the old one and almost as easy as that. Not a refund but just as perfect :)

    Sorry, completely missed your question!

Yes, I do have one and it can be a little "interesting" at times! Glad to see Arcam came through - I have always been pleased with their customer service.

I think the 600 is a complicated amp and the software is not perfect, hence my "interesting" comment. The sound quality is head and shoulders above anything else I have heard, AV wise at least.
