Transfer from cash to S&S isa

I just found out that my Cash ISA provider (the Post Office) does not allow partial transfers at all - you have to transfer the entire ISA amount.
As I don't want to transfer the entire amount into a S&S ISA, is it possible to transfer all of the Post Office money into a new Cash ISA (that allows partial transfers) this tax year and then do a partial transfer? I have already transferred the Cash ISA once this tax year (from Nationwide to the Post Office), can I transfer again?0 -

You can do that, but you might also consider my suggestion in #9, which would leave you with only £1000 more in your S&S ISA than you originally wanted, but leaves you free to open a new cash ISA afterwards for your remaining allowance.
