My issues is that I have recently moved in to a property and was told by BT I would have to change my number and Fibre Optic was not available, that was all fine. If having a local number is important to your business, you may be able to buy one for a few pounds a month.

Google something like 'virtual phone numbers' or 'geographic phone numbers'. Numbers in 500 to 600 different area codes seem to be available.

I use a 'virtual number' with a different area code, and which I can direct to my landline, my mobile or to voicemail using an online control panel.
