3 sim only contract - Upgrade
I am on a sim only contract with 3 and as I am having issues with my phone contacted them about taking a full contract with them.
They informed me that I would have to pay in full until the end off my contract (£154).
I do understand the logic behind early cancellation penalty fees in light of full contracts, ie that the cost of the phone needs to be recovered. However in this situation, where I own my phone and where I am actually seeking to spend more with 3, I cannot see this being fair to, me the customer, or being sound business practice.
Essentially although this is a contractual affair I am not terminating my contract with 3 i am extending it to their advantage. They are asking me to pay out money for a service I will be paying for within my new contract... Is there any predicate that anyone is aware of that I can use if I take this to the Comms Ombudsman or in writing a letter to their CEO?
Thanks
Garry

a sim only is still a full legally binding contract as is just the same as if you have a contract with a phone, so you can either pay their fees to cancel this contract to start a new contract or take out a new contract and still continue paying your current contact at the same time0

or just buy a phone? You are waisting the complaints team time and ombudsmansDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
