    Morning all,

Had horrid dreams last night so feeling out of sorts at the moment. I must remember not to have a coffee so close to bedtime.

Plans for today are to sort through the paperwork, well, make a start! I am hoping to get it done in a week, we shall see. Hopefully, the shredder will not go on strike. As this is a job I dread doing I am going to find something nice and relaxing to listen to, but also that does not distract me. I am thinking of my Laura Ingalls books that I have on cd. My plan is that my pleasure from listening will outweigh my feelings of dread and fear about doing the paperwork. We will see if this works, and if not, I will just have to get on with it!

Other plans are to put some washing on and on the airer.

Easy dinner tonight of shepherds pie with vegetables.

    Take care all.

    Morning all,

HH - you are clever, its lovely :)

Like alot of us we,re enjoying the last day of our break, making Sheperds Pie for dinner (LO lamb) and doing some ironing, thats about it for today.

I,m going to take some of our Chocolates into work - saves us and our waistlines :)

I,m not looking forward to work - before I left for Christmas, I was told by my Manager to think about how I want to work my hours, I currently work 2 long days a week, he want me to do 4 days - i,m thinking of proposing 3 days as what with fuel, clothing etc and the fact I help MIL out alot, working a 4 day week is not why I went PT.... I know it seems minor to most people, but he made me feel quite pressured since I went PT, and it was all agreed with HR and has been on my mind all break.

    Will stop waffling now....
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    Hello Islandmaid,

Not minor at all, I would feel the same way. That is the trouble I found with P/T hours the parameters kept trying to be altered once in situ. I will be thinking of you.

Morning all! had quite a productive morning so far. One load of washing through the machine, including school blazer for tomorrow. Dishwasher filled and remaining bits washed up. I have put my presents away, also packed up the food processor and fitted my Kenwood attachments in that cupboard instead. Food processor will go in the garage for a while until I see if I miss it, if not it will be given away.
Ironing is next on the list then need to make a crumble for Pud, using apples and cranberries from the freezer. Roast lamb for dinner. DS13 is making cake pops.

  • Still feel a bit drained after a funny tummy yesterday but so far have done the ironing, changed the sheets and turned the mattress, sorted out some old bedding and taken the decorations off the tree. DH is currently taking down the Christmas lights and then we'll put the tree outside for the recycling men on Tuesday. About to sit down with a cuppa and watch the rugby!
  • Afternoon all

Thank you for all your kind comments about my blanket, I'm not very good at crochet, but I enjoy it., Tru, thank you for posting the link, Mrs MH, thank you.

I started he blanket for a work colleague who is expecting, but DD2 said she loved it so I made it bigger than I intended & have given it to DD2 for our youngest DGD Jolene, I've added a pic on FB of Jolene & hubby with the blanket, I'm now making a smaller version for my colleague. DD1 has lots of things I've made but DD2 isn't usually keen on woolly stuff.

DD2 & her tribe have gone to the pantomime so hubby & I have the littlest one with us, we've been to buy more fish for our tank & she loved looking at the fish, she had a bottle of milk when we got home & she & hubby are asleep on the sofa.

I still haven't sorted out next weeks pack ups, so I better do that next, hubby's having roast pork for dinner today, I'll just have the go withs.

TTFM, good to see you, hugs to Molly, Hilly, Elona, LW & anyone else in need.

    Have a good afternoon everyone

    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.

TTFTM, so glad to hear from you, we miss your posts. Hope 2015 is kind to you and look forward to hearing from you again soon.

Also not heard from Gers, hope you're ok.

Went for a long walk this morning and stopped at Ald! on the way back, met an old work colleague which was nice and didn't feel so embarased using my wally trolly this time, needs must! Only problem was that the large pot of yogurt split and ended up all over the bottom of the bag. That has been washed as best I can and hopefully wont smell when it's dry.

Washing half dried on the line, ham hough on the boil and jelly made for tomorrows lunches. Take care. XX
  • Hello everyone.

HH love the blanket such pretty colours.

Yesterday I finally finished a jumper I had been knitting for myself its only taken about 6 months:rotfl:

I have now started a scarf and hat set for my niece who will be 4 in a couple of weeks so hope she will like it.

DH and I didn't sleep well last night, was probably cheese & crackers we had for supper so won't be doing that again.

DD has gone to a friends's birthday party today, so we went and bought a present and card and some food to take. I popped into The Works and bought a calendar and diary for £1.50 so very pleased. Then just picked up some milk and ys pigs in blankets.

Back home now just chilling out but will do the ironing and wash some towels in a minute. DS and DD go back to college and 6th form tomorrow, but I have an extra day as my school has an inset day, so I am going to have a big clean-up, take down all the decs and the tree. Looking forward to getting sorted out and some peace and quiet. DH will be working at home, but he has his own office so we won't disturb each other.

Had a roast yesterday so will just have leftovers today.

Have a good rest of the day everyone. take care in the fog and stay warm and safe.

Prayers please, my niece in Aus has just contacted her sister here to say that they are on a 20 minutes warning to evacuate their house.

They are living in a rented house just now but waiting for the sale to go through on their new home, I hope that neither house is affected by the awful fires that are raging in the hills behind Adelaide.

We have 8 bags to take to the charity shop tomorrow and more to follow.
