Anyone remember Rhyl Sun Centre of the early 80's?

Well, I was wondering if there was anywhere like that nowadays as I'dlove to take my daughter.
I remember when I was younger we used to go to the Sun Centre for a day trip from Manchester (super early start)...mum and dad would relax on a recliner at the side of the pool and us kids would play in the pools and await the wave machine getting turned on! I seem to recall there were food places in there that you could either eat in or take away back to your recliner and poolside tables too. The whole place was warm enough to hang about in your swimmers.
It was like a holiday resort under glass.
Is there anywhere like that now please guys? I've had a look online and can only find a normal swimming pool that allows inflatables for an hour or so during the school holidays, not a day trip place like Rhyl ' s Sun Centre was.
Can anyone out there help please?
EDIT: Should have said, I'm in London now so SE venues would be ideal, but we can travel within reason if necessary.

There used to be a wave machine at some centre in Cornwall.... they might have gone into administration though. I'll have a quick google ....
Here it is: http://www.retallackresort.co.uk/flow-rider.php £30/person
From London, fly into Newquay.
Although you might have been after a fuller experience and not just a wave machine in the middle of nowhere.0 -

When you were younger? We were there only a couple of years ago, it was still pretty good even though it looked tiredI was upset to discover that it had closed.
The water park at Alton Towers is pretty good, plenty of lounging space and a few eateries. And of course, it can be combined with a trip to the park:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

The Sun Centre....that's a blast from the past...loved it.
I also remember the outdoor pool in Rhyl just off the sea front..
It's a shame these type of family places have nearly all but disappeared..have you tried the Sandcastle in Blackpool? It has been many years since I went but maybe it fits your requirements.0 -

Yeah, I used to go up until I was about 12. I looked it up recently as my daughter can now swim and I fancied lounging about for the day like my mum used to do, but it had shut!
Interesting about Alton Towers having somewhere. When my daughter is a bit bigger, I might try that and go to the park as well. She's 9 so I think a bit small for Alton Towers, but she does love roller coasters so wwe'll be there soon enough!PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
