Sadly an unexpected expense came up last month and has wiped me clean.
I have to start again...... WSC 2015: #50 - £128/£1378 (2014 #16 - £1000)
Save £12k in 2015: #188 - £500/3000 (2014 #25 - £4300)

Sorry to hear that Borntotravel, but at least the money was there and you didn't have to go into debt to pay for whatever it was. I know how it feels though because I was saving in the emergency fund challenge and have nothing in it now as at least twice I have had to spend the whole lot i had managed to save, on large unexpected but essential expenditures. Keep onward and upward though

I'd like to join please - hope not too late.
I'm doing a combination of the 50p and £1 challenge. Weeks 1-26 will be 50p. Transferred £60 today to bring up to date. Weeks 27 - 52 will be the £1 challenge from the beginning. Only just sorted finances and no longer in overdraft so feels good that the savings will be from my money rather than the od.
I think that means I will be saving £526.50 during the year which sounds fantastic!
Not sure whether to pay across the money weekly or for the whole month after payday.
