Virgin mates rates

We've got all the whistles and bells with virgin- phone, broadband and tv (multi room). 5 years ago it was every service they provided for £50 a month.
The price has increased slightly (£55) and while we're pretty sure we've got a good deal on what we''ve got, we're not using everything- multi room isn't used, we rarely use the landline. We do need a good broadband service though as my husband works from home fairly regularly.
Are we likely to get a significant price reduction (say down to £20ish) for a good broadband service, a landline and basic tv channels? We want to save money but can't forgo the good broadband. TV wise, we'll miss the recording aspect but it's not forever so if the monthly cost is low enough it'd be a compromise worth making.
Is it worth calling Virgin do you think? I worry that the mates rates will be withdrawn and we'll get a lot less service for not a lot less money!

Mates rates only applies to the big kahuna package or higher, so to drop down to the lowest package you would have to pay normal customer prices.
You can migrate to the new mates rates which only comes with one box, not sure if its cheaper but does come with tivo and 152meg broadband and basic phone0
