Why not give the Roku Stick a look (only for a little bit extra than the Chromecast).0

Can't see how it is any harder to setup and any of the others - just setup my 3rd on here, and it took all of 10mins - and that was including doing all the updates.0 -
Already got it using Plex OK - any pointers please on further unlocking ?you can get "most" of the roku features , by unlocking a now tv box0 -

look at my post above , read http://www.automatedhome.co.uk/av-distribution/now-tv-10-minute-hack-10-wireless-plex-media-player.html
locate reposatories from the web (githut have a lot) load them in the folder on the PC and go for it0 -
I use the Roku I would recommend it over a Now TV box as it has the same services and more such as Netflix. You can use the plex hack to enable Netfix but then you need to have your PC on to watch it.
I can't personally bothered with the hassle trying to get Netflix working that way as Netflix isn't very Linux friendly plus I don't have my PC on all the time. I think its worth the extra as it just works.0 -

to reset it back to a std nowtv box , you press the hidden reset pin to reset back to factory.
plex is free for a PC , and about £1.50 for a tablet/mobile from the apps store , download the free copy for your PC https://plex.tv/downloads
normally they don,t sell the boxes unless you pay for a "months pass" , often another £10-£15 ,
I have a brand new "hacked" one here , if you want to save the hastle , PM me
Thanks for the offer and all the info (I had already ordered the now box when I saw your post) but really appreciate your offer if I had seen it on time.
If I understand your post correctly, will I be able to put plex on my nexus 7 as well and stream stuff from there? If so I would probably set it up both for the pc and tablet, if not too much involved.
There are two plex apps by plex inc in the play store 1 plex for android at £3.22 and 2 plex for plex pass which is free.
Many thanks for any further info.

try it from your pc first (free) AFTER setting up your now box (registration) , and then unlocking it.0
