    hi all
I have a renault scenic 03 plate mk 1 1.4 petrol 77k miles on clock

it suddenly started losing power and juddering, have check coils and spark plugs what are all ok

no lights on dash have come on and no fault codes on reader

need some ideas on what it could be

    thanks

    Hi vicky.
I have the same car as you mk 1 scenic 66k.
I think that it's still a plugs or coil problem,
Have you put new plugs in?,
When you say you haved checked the coils, how?
I keep a set of spare coils from e bay & if I get a problem , I swop until I find the problem.
Start by putting new plugs in & then check the coils again.

My Renault Scenic was losing power and went to Renault and on the diagnostic machine (at great cost).

Turns out it was a perished vacuum hose. Renault replaced it for nothing! (well, apart from the cost of the diagnostic machine).

It must be something that goes quite often because the chap who MOTd it last year noticed the hose was deteriorating again and changed it.

    hi frith,
    Glad you got the fix.

    Ialso have a mk1 from new 03

My local back street garage that i take my car to , will put it on the diagnostic kit & will tell me the problem , if ones shown , then its up to me if i want to mend it my self if its a simple fix , or i can go & buy the part as cheap as i can & they will fit it for me , whatever i choose to do there is never ever a charge for the use of the diagnostic kit or the 15 minutes taken up from the mechanic who performs the task.
only a few weeks ago , they fitted a lower suspension arm on my wifes alfa , part was £37 + fit was £80, 3 hours work.

So what i am saying is , you can find good garages who dont want to rip you off , also i show loyalty to the garage with my car , family cars & friends who ask .
