M25 Cameras

Hi All,

I have recently started using M25 and found several camera lines.

I just want to understand if they are all active as I have a very new sat nav and it does not pick all of them.

I am not into speeding but want to if my sat nav needs new maps as it is only 2 months old.

Any help would be appreciated?

If your not speeding then you dont need to pay them anymore attention
than you already have.

Its not the maps they you need to update its the speed camera database.

There are a lot of fairly new cameras on the M25 and the M1 if you use that. They are at fairly regular intervals on the metal gantries that straddle the road. I seen a few flash and I would assume they all work. It makes speeding a very hard thing to do now. You could easily hit a few cameras on one journey and end up with 12 points!

they are active at all times , day and night , they also adjust to the speed set on the variable speed sections during the rush hour

The camera lines seem to appear under every gantry, and not all of them have cameras on them.

The Waze app, seem to accurately tell you where the cameras are, and are updated by users.

Thanks guyz. I have downloaded the waze app. But it seems there is a lot on the screen. I will be more vigilant with regards to variable speed signs on M25.

I have only ever seen them flash when the gantries show a speed limit eg. if they show 60 then I have seen them flash people doing 70.

However I have seen plenty of people doing 80 or 90 (and more) up the M1 and M25 when the gantries aren't set, and never seen them flash. Can anyone else verify this?

Also my tomtom which has up to date maps and community content only has about 1/4 of the cameras marked as live - but I don't rely on it.

AFAIA with the active management system on the M42 the cameras only operate when the variable speed limits are in use.

They only enforce the variable speed limits, if there isn't a lower limit in place they're not working, please don't become one of those annoying drivers on the M25 that brakes for them, it's almost as bad as those who brake as they pass each average speed camera :cool:

Well you'd be in trouble if you followed this advice when driving on the M62 near me (Leeds/Bradford). When the variable speed limits are not showing the cameras are still active - often see them flash for cars driving 80mph+.

It has been confirmed in local press/TV that these camera do enforce the national speed limit when not showing a lower variable limit.

I've never seen them flash when variable speed limits are not shown. When there variable speed limits they do flash.
