The annoying thing is I am so much better off than some an I know that! Just need to keep reminding myself of that - and I work in the best place to do that! Just can't fathom why suddenly I feel so down!!! I'm annoying myself let alone anyone else!!!!

Because we never compare down, we compare up. I think the same things myself. I have a wonderful husband, beautiful son & am expecting my 2nd child this year after a 6 year gap. I have so much to be thankful for, & yet, I find myself frustrated to be in debt, irritated to have not had a holiday in 4 years, anxious about money and change later in the year (bubs is due in October) now do you think the people with no money & no food today worry about October? No of course not, but that doesnt stop me wishing we could afford this that and the other. Its human nature. Anyone who says they are 100% content, is a little dodgy in my opinion:rotfl:

I guess you are right Bobarella - I am not even stressed about the debt as such - its at a manageable level - but would like to be planning a holiday, sorting the house etc and I would just like to feel on top of things rather than constantly fire fighting!

    I'll get there!!!

You will get there. You are so close now. One good piece of luck, a windfall of some kind and you could be debt free next week. I truly believe that. And if not you are only a handful of months away in any case.
Have you got anything nice to focus on coming up?

I think that's part of my current low - at this time of year I am normally planning some kind of break away with the kids - but this year I am not going anywhere! I have a week off in July but the kids are at their dads and then another week off at the end of August - but DS is away at Cadet camp so again won't be going anywhere! It won't kill me for a year - and next year I will be debt free and planning some kind of holiday - paid for up front with no credit in sight!!! I just have to keep that in focus!!!

And I can see why you'd feel that way. It's hard to accept we can't have the things that we love. But I'd see that one as a sign of your determination to kick this debt once and for all or you'd just book something and say to heck with it.
I'm sorry if I'm being an annoying Polly Anna type. I hate it when I'm trying to vent and others keep saying positive stuff so shoot me now if I'm that woman :)

No thank for your kind words Bobarella. I think I was having a bit of a low week - I don't regret getting the drive done but I think it has pushed the debt free date beyond the end of this year and that has made me a little weary! Anyway onward and upwards!

Yes its so true. Mood affects how we see everything. £70 is a bit steep for a deposit. Hope its for a good trip?
