Hi Judi,
I have finally read your previous thread. Fantastic.
I am glad you have started a new thread with a new title(I am glad you could not change the title of the previous thread-it was the title that reminded me of me and is why I read it.
Your new title is me now too
Keep going. you are succeeding and will continue to.

Hello Betsycat, enthusiasticsaver and Gill :hello: - yes I'm loving the new title - reminds me of my changed mind set!
Kantankerus Mare - well done on getting to the gym! I gave up my gym membership because I wasn't using it and was trying to get my monthly bills down - but need to do something - hence the free fitness class however I have a feeling there is a sting in the tail with that! As they say there is no such thing as a free lunch! it seems that it is a 4 week free fit camp but I have to go to an introduction meeting tomorrow and I have a feeling it will be sign up to something after the free 4 weeks - I will go and see anyway!
Still no NSD days - went out with a friend last night - I paid for 1 drink for us in the pub but he paid for the Chinese so I got the better deal I think!!! Was a lovely evening drinking the last of the Christmas wine and watching a movie!
Not been very productive today - I nipped into As*a and spent £32 on fresh fruit and veg and few other bits like fabric softener that couldn't wait until I do a proper shop. Also filled my car up - but hopefully I will now be able to have some NSD this week!
Will definitely look at the spam website for some new ideas Betsycat - but not sure it will ever be 'sexy':rotfl:0 -

How did you get on at your fitness meeting? Did you have to sign your life away?!
I seem to recall your mum got you a shed load of spam last year?new challenge?£1 a day for Christmas 2024 £367 / £366 ~Got married 24/05/19 ~ Credit CardDFW Nerd #1155 ~LBM 25/2/09 ~ Debt at highest £8,037.35 ~ £00 -
Yes I think she has secret supply off the back of a Spam lorry! It seems that a local manufacturer produces it - but also donates some stock to local community organisations - one being my mum's church and community cafe. I think the cafe struggles to use it so it gets donated to needy parishioners - I am not sure I qualify but I say to my mum I will use it if no one else needs or wants it. (don't want it to go to waste!)
The fit camp was a bit of a nightmare to be honest - I still haven't worked out what the catch is though - tonight was a sign up session. I took DD3 with me as she is too young to leave at home and it was in a indoor football place with a play area so I though she would be fine - but she whined about being there the whole time! I filled out a form, stood on a fancy scale that told me not only was I overweight and under hydrated but I have the body age of 60!!!!!:eek::eek:I'm only 45!
The form asked for lots info on how much I would pay for a healthy diet etc, and its linked to a diet product - so I am guessing that at some point they were going to start the hard sell - but I didn't hang around as DD3 was being such a pain! I am sure I will get info later about the next step as quite a lot of people were leaving before the info session but I am almost certain they will be trying to get people to sign up to a costly diet program with meal replacements. It also occurred to me that unless I find something that my DD3 can either join in with or is happy to sit and watch I am going to struggle as I really can't leaver her at home and I can't rely on babysitters - being a single parent is hard work at times!!!!0 -
Forgot to say NSD today - the first this month which is a start! But feeling a bit low now as I really wanted the fit club to be good and free - but I guess I knew that there would be a catch! and I also was a bit naïve to think that DD3 would be happy to just come with me - I need to find something that fits around my life and gets me active without costing the earth - feeling old and frumpy today!0

She's 10 - she's quite sensible but still not happy to leave her at home for an hour while I do a class - and babysitters are really not realistic - my mum is great but she has kids every day after school so she is ready to go home at 5.30 when I get home and I wouldn't ask her to come out again and DD2 works different days each week so planning is a nightmare. I need to do a class I think with other people around to motivate me - or there is running club nearby that is meant to be great for beginners - which I would love to join - but the childcare would still be a problem!
On positive note we have booked our first activity chosen by the kids (they have £50 a month to do activities as a family that are active instead of my gym membership!) we are going to jumpnation next weekend - which is a massive indoor trampolining centre - and I am doing it too!!! (bring on the tenalady!!!!:rotfl:) and they have agreed to do a long dog walk this weekend (with a promise of an icecream at the end!) so at least we have some activity planned!0
