CM or set top box? I take it you have powered everything down, waited a couple of mins, power up the set top box/ modem, waited for the lights to lock/ settle and then powered up the PC?
Are the lights locked on the front or flashing by the way?0 -
at work now but lights seem to be fixed
is CM
thanks
have to use internet at work and then call oh to try!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
oh says it states
could not make a http connection'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
If lights are fixed then you "should" be able to connect. You could try pinging a www address or an IP address to check if there are issues elsewhere but sometimes these issues are not caused by the VM network but closer to home. Have you got a firewall running at all or a router?0

we have firewall as part of the virgin package'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

Laptop or PC?
If PC take a look at the Device Manager and ensure there are no problems reported with the network card.
If wireless laptop you may need to use a network cable to connect to the router and change some settings, but check that the wireless card is turned ON first.0 -
Are you sure you've not been cut off by Virgin? I wouldn't surprise me.
Check your PC Guard that comes with Virgin. Start by opening up and wait for it to load, if you get a message on the screen saying "Sorry, you services are not active" (or something like that) And it will say "Don't worry, your computer will still be protected"
If you see that you have been disconnectedPlease do not feed the Trolls!0 -
no the pc guard comes on no probs there
a bit more investigation last nt has given me an error code of
0x8007273D on the gateway check
then later states
cant connect through http
cant connect through https
am at work so any help is appreciated but will need to print out instructions etc..'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
