Hi ladies,
I'm de-lurking because we're officially TTC #1. I'm 35, and have put the whole thing off this long because we said we wouldn't start TTC until my sister in law (the eternal party girl) did - our thinking being that we'd like our kids to have cousins the same age. Anyway, she well and truly put the spanner in the works at xmas by announcing that not only was she engaged, she was 12 weeks pregnant :rotfl:
Since then, life has revolved around OPKs, charting, scheduling BD, and not a lot else, although reading all your stories, you're making me feel a bit more normal. Anyone else used the Clearblue Advanced Ovulation kits and able to reassure me that three days of those infernal flashing smiley faces is not something to panic about? It's CD15 for me, and my Glow app is reassuring me that today and tomorrow are peak days, but the OPK evidently disagrees.
Looking forward to getting to know you all, although hopefully you'll all be short-stayers and "graduating" soon© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0 -
Welcome Cuilean
This morning, I would like to share with you all a lovely Gem Ovia provided me with.
I dutifully answered the question 'do you suffer from frequent and/or severe headaches?' with the answer 'no' and got the following response...
"That's Great! Parenting comes with enough little headaches of it's own"
LMAO Ovia, you properly cheered me up this morning.0 -

Welcome, Cuilean. I don't use the advanced, but I use the clearblue dual hormone digital and last month had 10 days solid of flashing smilies! There is a poster, whose name I've unfortunately and very rudely forgotten, who lurks the thread and knows A LOT about all the ov kits, so hopefully she'll be along to help.0

Hi ladies
Not much to report here, still got AF, CD4. We're following SMEP, but adapted for my slightly late OV (CD16/17 normally) so will start DTD and OV testing around CD11. Started temping yesterday, last months temps were mental, no pattern at all, but think that's due to lots of disturbed nights while DD is teething.
Re: OPKs I use the internet cheapy ones, and it's quite normal for there to be some LH around in your system prior to the spike. On a cheapy that means you see a faint line, but not as dark as the control, which i guess is what the flashing smiley on the Clearblue ones is indicating? It's not a positive test until you get the LH spike, which can be quite short-lived.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Still no AF, day 32... Decided to be brave and pee on a stick:
I think that might be a BFP, but not 100% sure.
It seems rather faint. The instructions show a picture of a clear or faint-ish line being a BFP, but not that faint.
Is it?? Isn't it?? Luckily I bought a pack of two, so might have to repeat in a few days time.
Congratulations :j:DLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Welcome Cuilean!
Well my IC showed positive for ovulation today, so did a Clearblue digital which showed negative. I've found the ICs always show positive 12-24 hours before the CB! Odd!
Anyway, can I be updated to 0dpo? I've told OH we are BDing tonight, I don't care how tired he is :rotfl:0 -
Welcome Cuilean!
I have decided that I have NO IDEA when I ovulated. I woke up this morning with the worst cramps in the world and they keep coming back throughout the day. They are like really bad AF pains, and I've got nausea really bad too. I'm only CD19 though so I doubt it means anything.
I'll open this question up to graduates as well, in the LP does anyone else get spots on their jawline? I normally do about a week before AF but this time I have them on my ears! :rotfl:Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

Hi all,
Lulu - I can get spots any time after OV. Usually a few days before AF but have had them the whole of LP before. If it's unusual for you it may be a sign?
AFM - AF due today or tomorrow. Some spotting today but no flow yet so not looking good0 -

I always get spots on my jawline in the LP, horrible lumpy red ones when I rarely get spots at all at any other time. Was a nasty surprise when I came off the pill after 10+ years to conceive DD1! I can't now remember if I got them the month I fell with her though, tbf I can't remember what I did yesterday at the moment, let alone 3 years agoLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
