  • Hi,

Have been a lurker for a good few months now. Hubby and have been talking over the best time to start trying and decided that now we have settled on house, we both have jobs that are reasonably well paid (never going to be rolling in money) and settled in life at the moment, we should crack on!

Slightly scared at the thought that in a year to 18 months time, provided everything goes well, we could have a mini-us! Looking forward to the future thread posts

Hi Sunnydayz! Is this your first month TTC? Mine too, it's exciting but scary isn't it?! Where In your cycle are you?

I'm CD4, still on my period so not much to report! Considering getting some Preseed as I've heard you shouldn't use normal lube (which we tend to always use) as it's not good for the sperm. Anyone else use this?

Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
Nice to see this thread getting busy again after so many people graduated in the last 3 months!

I am feeling really down at the moment, I know AF will arrive on Tuesday then it'll be cycle 6 for me. I know there's people who have been waiting for so much longer but I feel some resentment building because I know if we (read: OH) tried to DTD more I'd probably be pg now. I can't remember who said it but my OH is the same and tends to want to BD during the TWW! He tried to initiate it last night and I just burst into tears. I have no idea why, that's never happened before.

I really don't want to have to resort to using OPKs as I'd rather temp but surely I'd need to start from CD1? I don't think that'd be possible so would have to order one for the start of cycle 7.

I was sorting out my spare room this morning and couldn't help but imagine it as a nursery. I went to the supermarket and all I could see was baby event stuff and people with like 4 or 5 kids and here I am and I don't even have one! Such a sad bunny.

I hope all are ok. I know what you mean Jo, about OH having a gut feeling. Hopefully he's right!

I'll also guess 3 BFPs for February please Kelly :)

Anyone due to OV around Valentine's Day, or is it too early to tell? Ovia told me it's 15 days until my next fertile window - trust OH to be at football!

Awwww that's such a shame you're feeling down. I did read a fertility expert who said the majority of couples don't have enough sex when TTC and should really do it every second day.

Have you thought about the SMEP? Or would your OH be put off doing it on set days? Or is there anything he really likes that you could use to sneakily get him in the mood when you're fertile without actually telling him it's a set day iyswim (eg sexy underwear he likes or something)?

Hopefully thi'll be your month anyway, it only takes once I suppose!

The last day of my fertile window is on the 14th! Not like we need an excuse to BD ATM :rotfl:

He's not that kind of person unfortunately. He cannot really be put in the mood, it's only when he fancies it. I've tried these things before and I've been rejected in the past because he's not in the mood. Once a fortnight is enough for him!

I've tried talking to him about it, might have another attempt once AF arrives

Lulu sorry you're feeling down. Wishing you lots of BDing!

Gah..thought AF was arriving yesterday (awaiting first one after coming off pill) as had some spotting, but now nothing. Grrrrrr. Crampy, bloaty and sore so hopefully soon. Then can get cracking properly! Ordered a thermometer and some cheapy OPKs to be prepared..

Absolutely petrifying lol. We had always talked about it before we got married and once I had settled into my job, but now that has all been sorted, suddenly the reality that we are going to try for a baby has hit!!

I came off the pill just over a year ago in order to let my cycle sort itself, and I thought it had until November. Since then it has the past two cycles have been 6 weeks, instead of my usual 4 weeks. Not going to overly worry about it. Have had 4 BFN's, which I had expected, but wanted to make sure it was my cycle and not anything else.

Looked at baby names, so getting a bit ahead of myself!!
Looking forward to keeping up with the thread, and picking up pieces of advice. xx

Oh that's a shame Lulu. Best of luck, hopefully you catch this month anyway or another talk sorts it.

Haha I've been getting well ahead of myself with things like that too! Was a wee bit hungover today so had a lazy pyjama day and watched like three episodes of One Born Every Minute on 4od. My guilty pleasure!
