Lol T-Sil - I'm waiting for ov (hopefully) and similarly bored! There's only so many times you can check for Cm and Google conception facts. . . :cool:0

Gutted. Just done a cheap OPK all excited to see a good strong line and it's barely visible (yesterday's was stronger).
Had some lower abdominal pain on one side earlier, so wondering if that could be ovulation earlier than my apps predict. Will dtd tonight just in case but I'm starting to wonder if I even ovulate.
Sorry for being so negative0 -
Snowball, ovulation is normally 24-48 hours after a positive opk, so would explain why you had a strong opk yesterday instead of today and then pain today! I ovulated about 5 days earlier than app said this month (although I am suspicious given earlier reasons) I find the one sided pelvic pain is a great sign! Don't lose hope hugs xx0

Thanks aileth
Yesterday's OPK wasn't a positive but there was a definite line there, which was why I was all hopeful today's would be the big one. I guess with my age there's a good chance my ov window is shorter than some. Think I'll have to start temping next month, does anyone do this? I don't even know where to buy the thermometer from!

Hi! I was hoping I could join all you lovely ladies.
We've been not trying, but not doing anything to prevent, for quite a while now (4 years or so!). We expected something to have happened by now and it hasn't so we're going to have to try a bit harder.
I'm CD17, no idea if I've ovulated or not, but I've got myself a monitor and some sticks to pee on so fingers crossed I can at least become a little less ignorant about my cycle!0 -
Snowball, you need a thermometer with 2 decimal places, I got mine from amazon and it came with some free pregnancy tests!
Then you just take your temp at roughly the same time every day, before getting out of bed, and pref after a solid block of sleep - 3 hours minimum. I've set an alarm 5 mins before our radio alarm comes on. I use Fertility Friend app to chart my temps.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
FF put my crosshairs in today, and adjusted my period due date based on late ov day. not sure what delayed it this month, but good to know when to expect AF :cool:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160

Snow_ball, don't worry about negativity - we all get there sometimes and we're here to help and to listen
It is possible to get hormone surges and EWCM without ovulating, but if you're getting ovulation pains I'd say that's a pretty good sign there's an egg! If you are worried about anovulatory cycles, go to your doctor, there are some additional checks they can run if there's cause for concern.
This is my first month temping (had to do it for five days for the nutritionist, then thought I might as well carry on) - my thermometer only has one digital place, but it does the job. I picked it up at Waitrose and so far it works, temp fell the day AF hit and been constant since, so just waiting for the next dip followed by rise!
Welcome cyantist, wishing you a very short stay0 -
Thanks everyone, I'll get on Amazon.
My friend has started temping on the advice of a nutritionist Black Ribboner! She's the only person I've been talking to about all this TTC stuff, except for here. And I'm trying to accept that I'll probably never have my body fully sussed, we're too unpredictable!
Need to get back to the gym (been saying that for so long) it's the only thing that will help stop me obsessing!
Thanks again! xx
Ps love the username cyantist0
