Hi beckseven - I used to be registered under a different name & remember you being around a few years ago! I think there's lots of us in the same boat really....we stop paying attention to our spending and gradually slide into a heap of trouble again. Have you started a diary too?
Last day before I go back to work tomorrow.....have loved my time off, and haven't felt so relaxed in a long time! I know work will be so busy....so need to try to find a way to manage my stress levels. I'm starting off as I mean to go on, and have had a soak in the bath, read some of my book & managed to get into bed for 10.00!!! Plan is for lights out at 10.30.....
Tomorrows plan......school run, work, school-club pick-up, Cook dinner for kids (I've made a big stew for me, DH & DD) then go for a run/walk with my friend....before heading home to do washing etc...and then it all starts again on Wednesday.
Intend to have a low spend day tomorrow....just need to post some cards. Lunch is LO spaghetti bolognese. Took DD to cinema today so £15 spent (with a drink for DD).....we took a box of maltesers from home & avoided popcorn!

Hey lily rose,
Your doing really well, sounds like you have a really busy year ahead of you.
It's a great step to come back, and I know it is hard to keep motivated to come on here and update but it does help the determination.
I agree with the fact you need to have a life, once the children are grown up you won't be able to do things like this anymore, so it's best to make the most of it. I really don't think you can best making memories.

Hi Stereochild & laurag89....thanks for posting:D
Am actually running on time this morning.....it won't last!:rotfl:
Thinking about my finances over the next couple of months....I'm hoping to be able to pay off my Next account and most of the M&S card by the end of March. I have no council tax or water to pay during February and March....and that amounts to around £190 per month! I shall also be using my child benefit this month to pay off the remainder of my christmas spending (which is what the Next debt is!) and from next month, the child benefit will go to child related expenses....pocket money, bus passes, clothes, mobile bills .....oh I could go on & on! Who knew teenagers cost so much money???
Need to check when my 0% deals end....and make sure I try to do balance transfers before they end! I know the Lloyds one was quite a long deal....but must check.
Right.....off to do the school run before work.....nice to catch up with colleagues, but I know there will be a load for me to sort out......oh the joys of the NHS!!2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j

Hi Aloofdragon (fab username by the way!)
Work was busy, as I'd expected...had to deal with a crisis this afternoon which meant cancelling 2 routine visits...but had to be done!!! I'm trying not to let it stress me or bring work home with me....we'll see how long it lasts:rotfl:
Only spending was £1.50 on sweets for the kids - not essential....but only do it once a week,
Been for a run tonight.....did ok considering I haven't run for a while! Walked a bit to break it up. I don't enjoy running though.....really wish I did!!
Diet has been healthy today..lots of fruit & veg!!
Tonight I shall be mostly relaxing...don't feel 100%, although don't feel ill either:(
Another positive was that my after school club bill was about £20 less than I thought:j....this will stay in my account in case we need it to scrape through until payday! I know it should go on the debt....but I don't want to go overdrawn.....2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j

Good news on the diet
I've started eating more veg & fruit, drinking more water, and doing home exercise rather than paying for a gym membership. All I know is my legs kill from squats and lunges!!
Shame about work hope it worked out in the end.

Work is always busy.....just some days are crazy!! Today went to plan....no crises to deal with, which is good. :j
Spent £4.15 on a book of stamps & a cheap diary to record my work expenses ....very important:)
Have been for a walk tonight, nothing too strenuous but a good walk all the same. Eating has been generally good....except the ice cream this evening....but that was my treat for the day!
Short post tonight as I'm shattered & heading off to bed. Night all xx2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j

Not been around for a few days, as usual life and work have a habit of getting in the way.
Things are not quite going to go to plan this month....I had planned to use my child benefit payment to pay off Next....but need to have our shower repaired and have overspent in our current account...so that plan's out of the window:mad:. Not going to let it set me back or get me down...
Spent last night pricing up foreign holidays:rotfl:....how does anyone afford it? Looking at £3-4000 for us....it's madness!! Needless to say, that won't be happening. Sometimes I do think...shall we just book it & go anyway...worry about it later....but then I give myself a reality check..look at what I would need to save each month to pay for it (around £600-700!!!) ...and turn the iPad off!!;)
Seem to have spent yesterday doing boring chores....shopping, cleaning, mountains of washing (where does it come from??) and sorting!! Cleared out half of DD's room....she only has a box room, but she has so much rubbish!!. It looks much better already...but now our room is a mess as it's got her unwanted/grown out of stuff in it! Today she's not well:( so I'll be in the house all day, will finish off her room, more washing & the dreaded ironing. Also got to get DSs to do their homework:eek: I'm sure there must be a better way of doing things, rather than spending the whole weekend doing this stuff....any ideas??
Better get started I suppose......hope you all have a good day x2nd January 2015: Total £4970.70 Total now: £4878.88 :eek:Mum & Dad £100/£1795.00[STRIKE]Next £135.70/£135.70[/STRIKE]Balance now £0 :j
