Far from an expert in these things but wondering if your son has tried to renegotiate with the lending people? Maybe if they knew your son was looking to transfer the mortgage elsewhere, they might give a offer a more favourable interest rate.I m trying to find a better mortgage deal for one of my sons. At the moment he s 6 years into a fixed 10 year rate at 5.9% apparently he ll need to pay £5,000 to close it   I m sure there would be some better deals out there for him even if this money has to be paid. Ridiculous.0 -
