Asda announce their biggest rollback ever.

Eg Heinz Beans and sausages down to 50p

    http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml?cmpid=emc-ghs-_-ghs-_-campaign-_-wk4_newsletter-_-E100001193&#/product/23727

Not necessarily;) - I'm hoping for an upturn - Frijj milkshakes now £1.30, Aero Mousses back up, Tropicana juice back up to £2.48, hopefully the Pot Noodles will go back up from 50p soon. Although "biggest ever" and items cut to 50p for January, some of these cuts were always going to be temporary. Many of them, I think, were out of previously budgeted price cut funds and were reannounced recently but were already planned.

    This:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2914125/Asda-s-prices-rose-thousands-items-announced-biggest-rollback-week.html

    - maybe a little bit unfair on A, who do seem to have cut prices that then remain at those prices for longer than the half price up and downs do elsewhere (they tend not to be down one week, up the next) - and all the big supermarkets put prices up and then put them down to advertise an offer - but nonetheless a lot are temporary. I don't agree they are short-term promotions though, of the likes you see at T, so if that unnamed competitor was T, a lot of pot calling kettle I feel.

A "argued it was wrong to describe a product that has returned to a higher price after a promotion as a price rise" (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2914125/Asda-s-prices-rose-thousands-items-announced-biggest-rollback-week.html). So what is it then? A return to the same price as it previously was, presumably. In which case, the price reduction in order to put it on promotion cannot be described as a price reduction or a price cut in my view. Argue that black is white maybe. This is also one of my bugbears with organisations. They seem to be able to argue anything they like, no matter how completely unarguable and never seem to be challenged or their argument dismissed as being completely beyond reasonable. Some arguments and opinions, I am afraid, ARE invalid. Those that hold them should not be allowed to hold them or to propagate them in my view. I guess that's why we have freedom of speech, although in fact I don't agree with that at all and, yes, I do wish to suppress people who are plain wrong:p:rotfl:.

The Sunbeds Association is one of the organisations in my opinion that is one of my bugbears. Seems to be just about the only organisation or place arguing that sunbeds do not cause, or at least contribute to, cancer when just about every other source accepts that as a true fact. In that occasion I think, yes, the fact they are on their own shows that they are wrong. Obviously the entire rest of the world is wrong and they are right:rotfl:. They really shouldn't be allowed to argue or suggest that (that sunbeds don't have a link to cancer) in my view and, what bugbears me, is when news media, in particular printed and internet versions of newspapers, pick that up, from PR press releases which then appear as if they are news and then the news organisations fail to question or challenge what is claimed in them. Doing a disservice to the public, in that regard, in my view.

In my view, unarguable claims, or those totally beyond any reasonable view - such as sunbeds don't have a link to cancer - should not be allowed to be printed without full challenge and being dismissed. Some things are beyond what is reasonable in a democratic society and that sort of thing, in my view, is. It's simply not capable of argument. Sorry, I disagree with them fundamentally and - yes, I wish to shut such an unarguable and completely wrong in my view opinion down. Thanks TM for getting me onto a good rant:rotfl::rotfl:.

The thing is, if one of me or you, an individual person, appeared in court and argued that, we would be slapped down, yet if it's an organisation, they just seem to be able to get away with saying whatever they like (in the public arena, not necessarily a court) and no-one ever adjudges them to be wrong. Well, they should:p - it ought not to be allowed and ought to be legally proscribed.

Evening. Putting an udi order in for the morning. Both apple and strawb so will be a big one.

Has anyone bought cod from the counter lately? It's cheap at T but I don't know if it's the 2 for 3.00 or the 2 for 4.00 for comparison? The weights are confusing me! :o

I'll maybe order each. Got the inlaws living here at the mo so it'll get eaten.

I've got prawn crackers, Schwartz, frubes, baby food. Have I missed anything?

    Thank you :p

I don't have the faintest idea... I followed about 5 different sets of instructions. And then one of them popped up with things that needed deleting..... I cannot believe I missed my laptop so much!

    I can now pressed thanks.

I can now do an on line order (when I figure out what to buy... as I have not read properly for about 2 weeks, as malware (thingymebob) kept getting worse and worse!)

And I know I should have waited a bit, but I have just transferred money to DS1 which he needed.... so I am :rotfl::rotfl:
