Does anyone think the Boots sale is going to be this Wednesday?????

No, definitely not, no way is it gonna be this wednesday .

So everyone can stay at home and not bother going to the stores.

hi there, just be careful when using a voucher coz I am not sure you will get the points if you use it.

I might be wrong but I think it counts the voucher as a saving so it would wipe out your £5 match points

The xmas bonus worked like that.

    Other vouchers don't.

Thanks so much for your input to our piano situation Tiny...its really good to hear all experiences and I welcome your thoughts....

I'm not at all musical and neither is anyone else in the family...it was something that Ds decided to do when he was very young and to this day I have no idea why he started playing...but play he did and it has come fairly naturally to him....and we have never pushed it...moreover just marvelled in his ability...he went on to take a second totally unrelated instrument in order to play in an orchestra which again we had no prior knowledge of in terms of how to play.

Music has always seemed to be his release and it came as a total bolt from the blue yesterday when he said enough was enough...it was always the thing he went to when other things were starting to get on top of him...
He was even telling friends and family over christmas that he sees it as an easy way to earn a little extra cash whilst at uni in a few years...and that he was going to be very pleased to be able to list the highest grade on his university statements later this year.
We always knew it wasnt his chosen path to a career or fame and fortune but it just seems to have come to such an abrupt stop.
We have asked him to speak to his tutor tonight to see if maybe there is a compromise otherwise....anyone want to buy a piano?????!!!

Aw bless I hope he dosent regret it, I played the piano & stopped just b4 my final exam b4 I could teach, I was young I loved playing but didn't enjoy the theory, well the teacher. I do regret not finishing it, I don't play now :( it would be a shame for him to waste this opportunity, even if he took exam & failed at least he fir his best, does he need reassuring that the results are not the b& end all but the fact he takes the exam is. It is awfull thinking if only I did ...... Fingers crossed for both of ye :)

its actually his piano exams...he's taken up to grade 7 and spent the last 18 months preparing for the grade 8...ideally he should have taken the exam back in the summer but because of Gcse's decided to delay to march of this year.

its now or never as after this sitting the pieces change so realistically this is his last shot at the current set pieces.

It was never his intention to get a music based job ....and he hasnt even taken music to A level as he wanted to concentrate on other subjects...music was a hobby and he also plays another intrument again to a reasonably high level which I can see being given up too...but he was always so determined to pass the grade 8 to prove to himself that he could!

Music used to be able to take him away from the pressures of school work etc but at the moment it seems to be the thing that tipping everything else, and I do fear that this may be the start of something bigger with the A level courses not working out either

Oh what a shame hope he changes his mind . Dawn did it till grade 4.
