Forgot my phone so wasn't able to scan items to check comparisons before buying but gambled as nothing was cheap or on offer in A. Worked out OK, lost a bit on the cream.

    Baking a cake! ;)

ds2 is keeping the empty es crackers and putting mini eggs in them for his nieces and nephews then putting easter stickers on ( which we got cheap last year )

I need to think outside the box! :o

    That's a really good idea. ;)

afternoon all, has anyone done a muller yog shop over the last couple of days? as I will put in a c&c for tomorrow as got to take FIL to hospital so it would be rude to not call in on passing!!

I also have a stash of cat food - we also have no cat lol

I wait until I get a bag full and they go to our local cat rescue, they loved the whiskas bowls last year!

waited in all day for the boiler man who was meant to be here for 9 this morning. I am still sat here with big fleece on in the cold!

I had to do a double take and have checked the other comparisons, they are definitely on my receipt. :(

I purposely didn't buy a white choc mouse or jazzy because I couldn't remember which of them no longer show.

its actually his piano exams...he's taken up to grade 7 and spent the last 18 months preparing for the grade 8...ideally he should have taken the exam back in the summer but because of Gcse's decided to delay to march of this year.

its now or never as after this sitting the pieces change so realistically this is his last shot at the current set pieces.

It was never his intention to get a music based job ....and he hasnt even taken music to A level as he wanted to concentrate on other subjects...music was a hobby and he also plays another intrument again to a reasonably high level which I can see being given up too...but he was always so determined to pass the grade 8 to prove to himself that he could!

Music used to be able to take him away from the pressures of school work etc but at the moment it seems to be the thing that tipping everything else, and I do fear that this may be the start of something bigger with the A level courses not working out either

A point of view from a piano player who did the same. I delayed taking anymore exams while doing my O levels suggesting that I would carry on after to my parents but when push came to shove I didn't want to. I enjoyed playing my level which was no where near as well as your DS but I just didn't want to take it any further.

I remember my mum thinking that it would set me up for life if I could teach lessons myself from home. It was her dream not mine. :o

Do I regret it, in short no. I no longer have a piano, during major redecoration after our chimney fire there just was not the room for it. Cried my eyes out the last time I played it but have not really missed it if I am honest, I fall back on an old keyboard when I feel the need. ;)

Playing music should not feel like a chore it should always be enjoyed, maybe your DS is finding it stressful rather than enjoying it. I do think some people are naturals and others have to work really hard at it (I was one of the latter, and I just didn't want the pressure anymore.)

Sorry for the waffle don't know if you will get anything help from it. :o
