Oh dear I have managed to get myself an APG for nearly £18. Went sort of muggle shopping for essentials (no list or plans for an APG) and couldn't resist John Frieda oils
It was quite a big shop so it won't look as bad as it could've.

I need the Elite's help please!
My sister's boyfriend is in a band and they need lots and lots of 'likes' to up their chances of playing at a festival that would give them a lot of exposure as a band. If you Facebook could you please scroll down a little and click 'like' on Silo 18?
https://www.facebook.com/events/774180442636704/?ref=3&ref_newsfeed_story_type=regular
You don't need to like the Festival, or the band. It really is one simple click. Please help and please spread the word!
done for you0 -
Thank you!
It's just the once I think. They need at least a couple of hundred likes so I know it's a long shot! If they're in the top five it gives them a chance.

Well done (in current circumstances)!
Great news, A are more than 10% cheaper except that quite often they are not 10% cheaper meaning that you're quite often being ripped off when you doesn't use the APG except when they have items at 50p. I think that is about right - in more usual times, usually over half of the wombles I have aren't 10% cheaper. They're only really 10% cheaper in current times, temporarily, so the muggles arguably are only getting a good deal now. Except they're wasting money (IMO) on 50p Pot Noodles that they otherwise wouldn't buy:rotfl:.
And except for this:

This gives a vaguely decent voucher, except that of course they weren't 10% cheaper so the original shopper got 'ripped off' on the overall bill (compared to Waities current prices). But this is not inconsistent with the above, which is that you're being ripped off if you don't use the APG. Told you I was having to rely on Waities being cheaper:rotfl:. No multis at all on receipt, so don't get excited!
I suppose this:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2902084/Budget-supermarkets-strike-blow-against-big-boys-15-item-shopping-basket-Aldi-proves-1-87-cheaper-closest-rival-Asda.html
which purports to show that Aldi is cheaper and says it "proves" to be cheaper when IMO there is no such proof, it does indicate, as one person in the comments said, Morries and Sains as more expensive than 'up-market' Waitrose! Sains - "live well for less":rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. I did have a laugh at seeing the graphic of the baskets with that in there - yes, obviously live well for less money in your pocket!
The comparison seems a bit dodgy though - it's been done by msm but I don't think it's dodgy because they have done it, rather because of the way the computer system that's been used has replaced certain items, or not found some items available (and we know what happens to msm baskets showing on msm.co.uk when that happens). The survey started off at Aldi - so you could say was inevitably skewed towards Aldi. Some baskets have Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, others Cornflakes, different pack sizes too, so not exactly equivalent - and it all depends on what you're buying, and the manner in which you are doing so, as to which is cheapest. Any supermarket is cheaper than any other, depending on what is bought. Basically, they're all expensive except on what they have on offer (and then maybe a competitor that beats their price, with 10% or with cond spends that can amount to far more than 10% - see my Svs A shopping - works out cheaper: so, maybe they're expensive on everything except what any competitors whose prices their systems compare against are cheapest). Sometimes they've replaced items in Aldi with branded items in the major supermarkets - I know Aldi likes to say their options are cheaper and equivalent - but if own brands had been used in the supermarkets, those could have worked out cheaper. They choose Aldi and Lidl own brand fishfingers but Birds Eye in A and S. If they'd chosen S/P in A, those would have been a lot cheaper.
I wonder how long it will be before we start to class Aldi and Lidl as "major supermarkets".0 -
Evening all, managed to get out to Tesco today, been home poorly for a bit.
No 1p finds but got 2 boxes of Christmas nuts for £1 each, love nuts in all shapes and sizes!
I've seen the coffee glitch mentioned a couple of times and had a search (just comes up with the mentioned rather than explanation), and hoped someone would be kind enough to point me to it, or explain what the deal is please?
I need coffee and have an APG to use up this week.
Thanks in advance
