Play cautiously at the moment. ;)
There is a price collection at M today which will start showing in results from Thursday afternoon, at the latest Friday.

If the the M price changed yesterday it might not be on the current price collection & APG results.

I'm going to wait until Friday.

I collected all of the stuff from my dads room at the home after he died and brought it home - there was not that much, just some clothes and toiletries. I could not have it in the house so OH put it in the shed and its still there. I know I need to sort it
Youngest son might be back in April so if we get a few hours and a dry day I will get him to empty the shed and we can have a sort out. He has been in the shed but not said anything if he has seen the bags, very tactful.

I also carry around with me my dads bus pass which I saved when I cleared the house - is quite mad the things we cling onto. I've also got my mums sewing tin - an old sweet tin - she has been gone over 10 years now - don't use it but I do handle it.

My Dad more or less willed himself to die, took about 4 weeks, he managed to get himself into hospital to do it.

I also wondered about the timing of it. I went to see my dad on the Thursday when he was in hospital and he was very bright taking notice and listening and making eye contact, very bad throat so he could not speak much, and it all looked very good, the staff said he was on good form. I caught Dad up with all of the news, what everyone was doing, the cats, the garden, work etc, first proper conversation in weeks.
One thing I didn't tell him though, not to worry him - that was that eldest son was going back to base next day Friday to meet his mate and from there they were flying out to Kabul.
so that was Thursday and Friday.
Sunday morning we got a phone call from the hospital, my Dad had had his porridge and he just then slipped away.

I am fortunate in not having lost my parents but I know my grandad was holding on. He'd had multiple strokes so ended up in hospice and couldn'T talk. My mum visited every couple of days and watched the decline. One day she said to him it was ok to stop fighting. She went home (15 min drive) and my dad met her at the door to say they'd just phoned to say he'd gone. She felt awful, but more so as I think she wished she'd said it before and then been with him. :( I think the pain doesn't really go away but gets easier to cope with. I think it's a lovely idea to have something of theirs to remember them by, even if it's unusual. :)

yes, quiet area. A week was long enough but I don't think you can beat winter sun :)

Very frustrating CC collection from A's this morning ! The exit from the CC lane was blocked by a huge artic. delivery lorry which hd ot stuck trying to reverse into the yard - it couldn't turn because 2 home delivery vans were parked awkwardly and it would have taken the wings off both of them if the driver had reversed another inch or two. Took ages to find the drivers to move the vans. By this time 3 other cars queued behind me - after 15 minutes or so out comes a big trolley with 8 boxes and I thought they had several orders on it. They did - but none of them were mine so the guy left them all out in the rain while he went back to find mine.

At this point the machine where you scan your order suddenly threw a wobbly and started to let out a high pitched buzz which was really loud - it wouldn't stop and a staff member came out to fix it. She couldn't stop the noise and eventually gave it a really hard bang which did stop the niose (although the machine is not out of order).

While he was gone looking for my order another trolley guy came out with more shopping but again, it wasn't mine. I was getting a bit rattled by this time as I'd been there 45 minutes and the cars behind couldn't get out with me blocking the exit. My shopping finally arrived - and I've been charged £3 each for the wipes even though they are £1.50 on the shelf instore.

I needed to go instore to collect my newspaper and while I was there I checked the wipes price - and its still £1.50 so I asked what the policy was at CS. They didn't know so called Home Shopping - after another 10 minute wait a man thats usually on Security came out (which made me go a bit hot under the collar!). He said he was doing Home Shopping today and confirmed that I should have been charged the SEL price. He said he would arrange a refund and wrote all the details down in his diary. I wanted to take him over to the display so he could see the SEL price but he insisted that it was OK and that the price would show on his computer. I'm a bit concerned about that as surely it should have shown up as £1.50 when they scanned the order originally - I'm wondering if the SEL is a misprice.

Finally got home to discover that in addition to my order I also have 2 large packs of prepared pineapple as an extra !

Oh, and I forgot to say that I had trouble getting into the main car park as one of their security barriers has broken and they have also coned off one of the other entrances so they only have 2 out of 4 lanes working.

    Yo

    First, HI!

Second, I've been lurking about for a couple of weeks, so I still don't 'get' most of this stuff, so please forgive me if this is completely unhelpful...

That 3 for £10 thing, I'm not 100% on triggers...but is the Impulse File and Fragrance gift set one?

Yes you are not supposed to feed them on a regular basis and not close to the house so I will put a few bits right in the bottom paddock - we have quite a lot of bread left over from Christmas.

I think the foxes short cut through our garden and they cant get through to the fields through the gardens on either side

Our cats lounging before the fire see the fox first - all of a sudden all three are on their feet and staring intently into the blackness in the garden :rotfl:

don't encourage foxes  lost a cat to a fox a few years ago and my other cat only recently was caught by a fox and ripped his jaw off. Cut all his face and he could hardly walk. Thought we might loose him, he was a poor soul. Can only be a fox as we are out in the sticks with no other cats nearby and our dogs get on great with our cats. :(
Also lost poultry/geese and ducks to foxes so please do not encourage them :(

I do worry though that sometimes I annoy people if I waffle on too much about glitches that are obscure and not that great a saving

    Keep posting Evangeline!

:D I wouldn't worry, the more obscure the better, the other day I posted a glitch that I thought would compare unfavourably as a deal was going onto a worse offer so apg would have seen better offer than in-store :rotfl:

Oh, and I've pre-warned my DW that I may have to pop to the 24hr A 10 miles away at daft-o-clock if something interesting crops up following your early morning successes :T

Just v. quickly, as I'm on my way to Sains and then Morr, it was the 2 Quorn BBQ Chicken Fillets that didn't compare, but not because they appeared as merely Fillets but because they have come up as "Home, Entertainment or Clothing Item" and thus been treated as non-grocery not compared by BM. Those are my Quorn Chicken Fillets! I must have 'calculated' my cap breach incorrectly. I managed to buy 3 Quorn products in total - 2 others plus this BBQ Chicken Fillets one that had not been "selected" by Sains to include within their 3 for £5 offer. No multi on receipt - sadly:rotfl:. I missed the mbuy 'deliberately'.

The Drumstick Lolly wasn't a problem and did correctly return non-comp. If those Quorn Fillets had appeared properly:mad::rotfl: and compared then the Drumstick Lolly, even if it had compared vs 33p on A's much larger one, would not have been a mistake or a problem since I had exceeded the cap. I can therefore buy a Drumstick Lolly if I exceed the cap by more than 23p even if BM should ever change to comparing it when it shouldn't. (Assuming a constant A price.)

We now have 3 packs of Tuc Crackers:o and are about to have four:o:o. I know TCB Snap&Save now on Linda McC Veg Saus if I remember correctly but getting Quorn in S due to trying to get as much BM as possible back each time on a £0.00 real cash spend. Well, actually £1 this time:mad::(:rotfl:, but I suppose 'alright' for this amount of product and now £9.25 + £2.50 Nectar to spend. I still have £5 Nectar left after that, I forgot I had even more:rotfl::rotfl:.

    2 TUC 150g £2.60 £1.00
    1 Basics Water 2L £0.20 Non-comparable
1 SWIZZELS DRUMSTICK CHUNKY LOLLY SINGLE £0.10 Non-comparable:)
    1 Happy Egg Large x 6 Free Range Eggs £1.90 £0.97
    1 Bernard Matthews Turkey Numbers 338g £2.00 £1.00
    1 Quorn 6 low fat sausages 300g £2.00 £0.98
    1 Aero Milk Chocolate Mousse 4X59G £1.25 £0.50
    1 NAPOLINA RIGATONI 500G £1.55 £0.67
    1 Go Ahead CFS Forest Fruit 5x43.6g £1.75 £0.85
    1 Quorn Steak Strips 300g £2.00 £0.98
1 Home, Entertainment or Clothing Item £2.00 Non-comparable:(
    1 BIC 2 SENSITIVE DISPOSABLE RAZOR X10 £1.50 £1.00
    1 McVities Digestive Cheesecake Lemon 168g £1.15 £0.50
    2 Bag Re-Use 20/05/09- Upc1685350 Non-comparable Non-comparable

Exact £20 spend BM shop yesterday (cond spend amount;)) - you will technically need to check A didn't change prices at the end of last night - and buy a different item to Quorn 2 BBQ Chicken Fillets that is £2.00 in S and gives 75p back. It could have been one of the same items already bought - except that those others showing at £2 are on Sains. mbuy so that they won't cost £2 each:mad::rotfl::rotfl:.
