My Dad went within an hour of me leaving himI got home to a message on the answerphone. I know he didn't want me to be there. Stubborn beggar
:A
I collected all of the stuff from my dads room at the home after he died and brought it home - there was not that much, just some clothes and toiletries. I could not have it in the house so OH put it in the shed and its still there. I know I need to sort it
Youngest son might be back in April so if we get a few hours and a dry day I will get him to empty the shed and we can have a sort out. He has been in the shed but not said anything if he has seen the bags, very tactful.
I also carry around with me my dads bus pass which I saved when I cleared the house - is quite mad the things we cling onto. I've also got my mums sewing tin - an old sweet tin - she has been gone over 10 years now - don't use it but I do handle it.
My Dad more or less willed himself to die, took about 4 weeks, he managed to get himself into hospital to do it.
I also wondered about the timing of it. I went to see my dad on the Thursday when he was in hospital and he was very bright taking notice and listening and making eye contact, very bad throat so he could not speak much, and it all looked very good, the staff said he was on good form. I caught Dad up with all of the news, what everyone was doing, the cats, the garden, work etc, first proper conversation in weeks.
One thing I didn't tell him though, not to worry him - that was that eldest son was going back to base next day Friday to meet his mate and from there they were flying out to Kabul.
so that was Thursday and Friday.
Sunday morning we got a phone call from the hospital, my Dad had had his porridge and he just then slipped away.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. I'm very frustrated waiting in for a delivery between 8am and 1pm that I hoped would be nearer 8 than 1.......so of course it will be nearer 1 :rotfl:
Hold your head up and revel in the fact you're worth talking about
I had to wait in on Friday for a BT to come sort the broadband out, said between 8 and 1pm, they never turned up  so phoned BT, said they were too busy, and couldnt make it, never apologised just said they would turn up when they could. Doesnt help me as it the holiday home in Wales, and we are not there now, so still dont know if the broadband is working or not.
BT told me on the phone if it is a problem in the house they would have to charge me £130.00, to sort it. When they didnt turn up, they said on the phone we can do it from the post outside dont need to come in the house, so if they try and charge me £130.00 they will be getting a few cross words from me :mad:0 -

Is this Correjelo or Costa Caleta, we went to Correjelo and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Costa caleta, it was great. We will go again. Although every holiday on jet2 has gone up by around 200.00 this morning! It did the same last week. Weds must be the most popular day to book. Do not book today!!!!0 -
I also thought that about the Tobs still being a bit expensive - but then I thought its a 400g bar so that's actually the size of 4. The hundred g bars of posh choc that I might treat myself to if they go to a pound on offer so buying a tob stops me spending £4 on posh choc - then it didn't seem so bad.
but you need to be very disciplined to actually chop a tob into 4 (or even 8) - not dared open ours yet.
Foxes are biscs that were going nicely as a filler on the a v w list at the weekend - I don't know the maths but I think they were working out cheaper than value biscuits which is the standard line in our house
Yes we use those biscuits. I'll buy the foxes today then!!! Posh0 -
same I'm dithering about this morning also, washing up is waiting to do as is the tedious job of cleaning the bathroom......but these lindt balls are going down well while I am catching up online lol x0

Mhco your post made me chuckle re the fox with his gob full of pizzacrust:rotfl::rotfl:i try not to encourage the foxes as silly as it may see I am rather nervous of them;)and we have a lot at the bottom of the garden in the park.Needless to say I feed the birds and have just been and hung a nice lump of fat from the gammon I cooked along with some apples that have gone a bit soft and put them on the bird table so they will have a nice little feed today
Yes you are not supposed to feed them on a regular basis and not close to the house so I will put a few bits right in the bottom paddock - we have quite a lot of bread left over from Christmas.
I think the foxes short cut through our garden and they cant get through to the fields through the gardens on either side
Our cats lounging before the fire see the fox first - all of a sudden all three are on their feet and staring intently into the blackness in the garden :rotfl:“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. There is no confirmation that the machine is calibrated or that the trigger hasn't seized up.
Play cautiously at the moment.
