29. Book sold and posted
Just across the way from the post office is a charity shop, so I had a hunt around for more stuff to get rid of, so off to the charity shop went:
30. T-shirt
31. Dress
32. Skirt
33. Nail varnish (unused)
34. Scarf
35. Book
36 - 42. Necklaces
43 - 46. Bracelets
47 - 49. Anklets
50. Pair of slippers (never worn as prefer the mule style ones)
51 - 52. Handbags
53. Cosmetic brush wrap (new)
54. Belt (still had the shop tags on, and I've had it several years, so decided to let it go to someone who will wear it!)
55. Purse
56. Yet another pair of socks with holes into rag bag.
I was quite surprised I found that much to take to the charity shop in a fairly short space of time, but it's been a while since I went through my jewellery. Some of the other stuff was in the 'to sell' pile. I thought it would be better to donate some things that I would only get a minimal amount for and wouldn't be worth the time listing and packing etc.
The selling pile is still huge, waiting for Ebay to offer me more free listings, so I can put up the remainder of my TV and film memorabilia. My mindset has changed so much over the last 10 years or so, I no longer have any collections (apart from the one mentioned above that I am selling.) I have been reading a lot about simplifying life and minimalism (Pinterest has a lot of links to blogs about this, if anyone uses it) Ah yes, and I use Pinterest for pinning information and ideas onto virtual boards, instead of ripping articles out of magazines, as I no longer buy magazines.
I still have plenty to get rid of, but feeling much better now that I no longer have a wall of stuff around me or cardboard boxes piled up against the wall in the spare room (this was when I lived with my ex - this is probably why I have cardboard box aversion now!) and my loft only has the Christmas tree and three other boxes in it. Following this thread for the last few years has definitely helped spur me on, so thank you to everyone who contributes.0 -
I know I have clutter under the bed ...isn't that where all the horrid things live ..lol like our eight legged friends! I do have a special one that lives under the bed ...I call him the Ex

OH and I have agreed that we will spend 1 day sorting out our wardrobes during Easter. If we get this done, it will be a big achievement. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
