As for broadband you can get it through 3G network for about the same price as through landline.
" We are rural so mobile communications not reliable"I am a LandLord,(under review) so there!:p0 -
With 3 kids, capped satellite and capped 3g aren't gonna hack it.
You could be looking at £150/month add-on data bills.
The location is obviously semi rural by the broadband speed were it even available.
To cable will be a distant dream.
If the neighbours are not prepared to share their WiFi (doing this does put you in a begging position...), give notice.0 -

Mobile is reliable in rural areas unless in deep Wales or Scotland.
Or, they are really unlucky...With 3 kids, capped satellite and capped 3g aren't gonna hack it.

Spending the day on youtube or whatnot is not compulsory for kids, you know?
OP said "internet access for school", that's not going to cost £150 a month.0 -

Always going over the top, with the red flag in the background.
People can just ask for anything of importance to them and get it confirmed in writing.0 -
I live in North Wales and you don't need to be that rural to have an unreliable mobile service here.0

In the sticks, you'd need line of sight to a base station. So you can get cold spots in England too. Particularly hilly areas."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
If the OP lives in Wales she can get help with the cost of satellite broadband, she just needs to be able to see the sky. I don't know if England have a similar scheme.

I used to live in a village called great gonerby which is essentially attached to grantham, no mobile phone signal and as my cousin still lives there I know only half the village can get a signal. Another village local to the area required you stand on a ladder near a park bench to get a mobile phone signal.0
