  • That's great news on the spending or rather lack of lol. Thanks for the reply, don't worry about not seeing it.

I haven't even thought about rolling our field etc. Ours have been out as it's been dry enough but just an hour or 2. I prefer them to be out and supply with extra hay than have lush grasss at the mo :).

Lovely weather again, washing blowing in the wind, best of all its free!
I've been working/helping out my mum and she kindly paid a bill for me as a thank you, much appreciated and a complete surprise.
Contracts running smoothly, ponios happy and well behaved atm, so happy mummy :)
Been thinking of upping sticks and moving to warmer climates....do we or don't we? Maybe a move back to our origins, possibly dryer than here??

So nice to see the horses out without rugs, munching away.
Need to have a huge batch cook day as I keep getting caught short and end up panicking and buying something yummy in or buying takeaway when I'm tired. Have compromised on guilt and am pegging out washing and finishing off for 10 mins in the tumbler which softens it all up so I don't have to iron :)
Important for me to keep ahead of myself and plan and organise otherwise it all goes pear shape pretty quick. Lists, lists and more lists.
I do intend to post figures updated but can't seem to get around to it, trying hard to keep everything to a minimum :)

Mine were out with no rugs overnight so I am happy!!! Rugs can go away, hay is reduced, bedding costs are down and they're out stretching their legs most of the time. Happy days. It's lovely isn't it.

I am in exactly the same position though slightly worse in that I have the food there but I CBA to cook so do something that's no good for us or get a take away. I'm trying to pull my socks up but was just saying on Scatty's thread, I'm getting stuck for ideas for summer dishes that can be cooked in advance. I don't want a hot and heavy meal after work and yard.

So if I give myself a £350 per month food budget, would be toothpaste, shampoo, washing powder etc. that would be approx. £11.29 a day. Eating out would also have to come out of that, so would that be doable for a family of 4 adults and a half size one lol?
The horses are now out overnight but if the weather changes they will be back in asap :)
Grass is growing like lightning and the washing is drying outside beautifully, oohhhhhh days like this :)

Nsd Monday so £11.29 carried over to Tuesday, leaving £22.58. Small top up spend of £8.11 leaving balance of £14.47, nsd today so including today's £11.29 I've got £25.76 left. Tomorrow is earmarked as a nsd hopefully so that will leave £37.05. By the time I go shopping on Friday I'll have £48.34. It's really working out well and helping me see exactly how much money I spend on food. It is great feeling being ahead of myself :)
Have taken shoes of the bigger one for a minimum of two trims, which saves £40 a time, also arranged that each winter he will go without shoes once he comes in from the grass. This winter they were in from November through to April so that's roughly 4 sets of shoes less than usual saving £160

Ewwww £48.34 didn't go far ....... £58.58 in Aldi...eekk overspent by £10.24. Oh now I've written it down it's not that bad by tomorrow morning I'll be back up to a grand total of £1.05 to spent lol
To be truthful I also spent £25 something in a meal out, naughty naughty I know! Oh well by Tuesday that will also be paid back. I have done my weekly shop though so shouldn't need anymore this week other than milk and bread

    Housework day today....again
Might try and make cakes for the week and hopefully get some of them into the freezer.
A very rainy day here, going to last all day according to the weather.
Won't be doing any veg this year, too busy unfortunately
Breaking down the shopping budget into daily amounts is definitely working for me at the moment. Hopefully I might even have some left at the end of the month, if not this month then next month definitely should because I didn't start this till mid way through May.

Mopey day today, nothing getting done. Just had a bit of pampering so maybe that will cheer me up. Very very tired and drained for some reason hopefully I will pick up in the week, could be the aftermath of a cold I've just had I suppose.
Anyway, will go and finish making cakes in a bit, mixture has sat in the processor for about two hours now so really does need my butt to get in gear
But of sun and exercise required I think.
Shopping balance available is -£13.56 including our meal out. By Tuesday I will have £9.02 and I'm back on track :) still nothing needed, have enough milk and bread to get to Tuesday at least so going good I think :)
