    It's hard going isn't it?
We viewed a lovely looking 3-2-1 suite in Harveys for a good price, 14 weeks delivery put me off, got back home and viewed reviews on here about Harveys, horrendous!

I used Furniture Village. Very happy with end result.

I used them too and have been very happy with my sofa's. Coming up to 5 years now and no problems...

I will do my usual here and ask where you live? If you are in the Midlands I would suggest visiting WESTBRIDGE FURNITURE in Stoke On Trent. They manufacture for M&S and Next (factories in Deeside/North Wales I believe)

The shop in Stoke is a factory stop but they mainly sell cancelled orders. THeir prices are 50% of retail and they have the Next &U M&S catalogues on the counter so you can pick and choose. THey have hundreds of sofas in the warehouse that they will bring out for you to inspect once you have narrowed down your choice (you will probably find the fabric/leather you want on one sofa design and then ask if they have that finish on he design you want).

The last one we bought (M&S leather sofa) had a small graze on the arm. They said it would be fixed before delivery - they use the same company that work on the leather interiors at Bentley up the road in Crewe. When it arrived I looked really closely but then couldn't even remember which arm had the graze.

My mum went a few weeks ago on my recommendation and she was really impressed.

I know John Lewis sofas and armchairs are expensive, but for some reason no one seems to know where they're made. If you're sure Westfield make them I will definitely pay them a visit!

We have a DFS sofa and so do my family. Have had them for years. They look sturdy and still are. Fabric sofas.

Wow, I live in Stoke-on-Trent and have never heard of them, will definitely be paying a visit though! My 10 year old DFS sofa has finally just about had it now ;)

If you just hang on DFS will be having a sale soon.

    Repeat until bored.

Try a local independent retailer, and if you can get something Italian.

Again, depending on where you are, try Alec's three piece suites in Bolton. The showroom is a bit of a sofa jungle, but they're good name sofas at less than half price. I've got a lovely Mand S set for a song. And Alex is a gent.
  • I have a leather DFS sofa. It's about 5 years old now and knackered. Colour / dye seemed to wear off very quickly where you sat. I believe the frame is broken where us two adults have sat, as you sink when you sit down (we are average weight). As other's have mentioned, it is huge - you don't realise how big it is in the showroom.
I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:

We have brought from DFS and Harveys and had no issue at all.

The DFS one was leather and I picked the style with the thickest leather (still a good price). It has been gifted twice and still used every day, it must be 6 years old and still going.

The harveys pair we have currently was brought just before a refit, got two for £500, delivered. Very happy with them, until the leg was damaged in transit.

But to their credit they had someone out to me and fixed it within a few days.
