Just me who thought the strangest thing in the post was that she slept with a friend first thing on Christmas Eve morning?

    "Literally"

'Literally first thing in the morning' just seemed a surprising time to indulge in a bit of extra-curricular sexual activity. The 'literally' intrigued me too. :rotfl:

If she'd been out with him in the evening and means they had sex literally just past midnight, it's not strange. Neither is it strange if she'd been out with him in the evening, gone to sleep and woken up and done it literally first thing in the morning. Morals aside.

    Well, no.

It's one thing to get drunk and make a mistake - which is usually bad enough, but atleast there's some weight to the argument that, 'omg, can't believe I did that'

And another to wake up and think, 'in my sober state I'm going to have a one morning stand'.

None of this affects her ability to teach. Though the lack of knowledge might in general.

I wouldn't judge either of those things, and you're right - it doesn't affect her ability to teach (if she and this situation is real at all).

I don't think she was asking "can I get pregnant from unprotected sex?"; more "could I be having symptoms of pregnancy so early after unprotected sex?", which I think is a fair enough question.

What a totally unnecessary comment. The way the OP chooses to conduct her private life would not have any affect on how well she does her job. Being a good teacher comes down to your knowledge, training and commitment to going above and beyond for your class and nothing else.

That might possibly be true for primary teaching, but I am seeing how relationships between GCSE pupils and teachers evolve from pure teaching to much more personal and advisory. I have been surprise by what my DD's teachers have shared about their personal life with them. So I stand by what I say, I would really not be impressed with someone with such morals to be in a position to advise my DD in any way if she were to come to her with personal issues.
  • My biggest concern is the teacher's failure to punctuate.

Out of interest Fbaby, what jobs are you allowed to do if you have a one night stand whilst in a relationship? Aside from politician obviously :D

I don't think teachers should be holier than thou, you can learn from every life experience and sometimes the best teachers can be the ones who made the biggest mistakes in life.

    How utterly utterly fascinating.

I shall sleep so much better now.
