Orange upgrade available, they are pushing 4g!
Options
I can upgrade now but I am unsure about which way to go. Does the use of 4g use more data than what I am on now, 3g I presume?
Orange upgrades seem to be available through Car Phone Warehouse, can they do a better deal than EE?
My internet with orange is now poor, some times I cannot get on line, will it be better with 4g?
A move to Tesco or 3 has been suggested, any advice will be appreciated.
I will be looking at upto 1gb data, upto 500 mins, some texts and a new smart phone. My current one is Xperia J which takes quite good photos. Good camera is important, another Sony should be easier for me to get used to.
Thanks.

It will only use more data if u use it more.
You first need to see if 4g is available in your area and whether it's inside or outside only reception.
Look on the EE site0 -
The difference between 3g and 4g is the speed. It wont use more or less on either.
Will it actually be faster on 4g. Only if your in a 4g area.
4g around here is so patchy its virtually useless. So i haggle the contract down and stick to 3g instead.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I'd look at getting a pay as you go sim for the other networks eg Tesco mobile, three, gift gaff and see if you get any better signal, just make sure you don't sign up to a 12 month contract.0

Bear in mind that 4G can theoretically travel up to 5 times further than 3G signal. The whole country (well, 98% population coverage) will be covered by 4G BY December 2015 so I'd say it's worth upgrading.0

Fortyfoot - If your current (Orange) internet is poor now then I can't see it improving as Orange use the EE network anyway, and as stated earlier you may not even be in a 4G area. Perhaps another network would suit you better - start by checking out coverage on Network Three or O2 (Tesco) as an alternative provider.0

I think I have narrowed it down to Xperia E3 (4g) from Tesco, 750 mins lots of text and 1gb data for £15, dropping down to £11.50 at the end of the 2 year contract. Pity Orange want £20 for the "upgrade" I have been with them a long time.
Thanks for all your comments, much appreciated.
