But if I ordered and paid in the UK with no knowledge that I was buying from oversees, how am I supposed to avoid that?
It was lightinthebox
By making some basic checks on the business you are buying from before making a purchase.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
To be honest, if they weren't too expensive I would consider binning them.
The last thing you need is for a fire or electrical problem caused by one of them failing.
I would consider buying and using many things made in countries that have few/no regulations regarding their safety but electrical goods isn't one of them.0 -
I bought 3 shaun and they were quite cheap. now we know, we know not to touch them. I also don't leave them on unattended.
I can't believe these things can legally be sold, even in China0 -
LEDhut have decent prices and I've found them a good place to buy from if you are looking to replace.0

There are literally 1000's of these death traps on the market unfortunately, personally speaking I would never buy electrical products like this off the internet.
Buy from a local diy shed or better still a local electrical wholesaler and you'll get a decent price and have somewhere you can go back to if you have problems etc.
As for leaving them in that's your perogative - BUT and it is a big BUT should someone touch the lamp and get electrocuted and killed then YOU would be the one being charged with manslaughter. Me ? I'd bin them and buy reputable branded ones. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
That they are made in China, or elsewhere, does not matter at all.0
