Paying for installment

I went to Carphone Warehouse for a phone and ended up getting a package deal with TalkTalk to come install the phone line and internet. Everything was scheduled in, and was sent the modem box.
The day came and the installation men turned up and found out the phone box was a 'dud' there are no wires coming into the flat from outside, so now I need to get the wires put back in. Found out the old tenant did have a phone line in here, but apparently when he moved to a smaller flat (in the same building) he pulled out the wires and connected them to his flat?!?!
The box is empty. It's like i was put on for show!
So now, TalkTalk are saying they want £150 for the connection, plus £120 upfront fee.
I currently use my neighbours internet, but as she is now moving, I do need my own connection.
Whats the best way forward? Do I pay TalkTalk? Or how do I find out who is cheaper to connect my internet and install it all? It's so frustrating. I live on the Isle Of Wight, so even getting TalkTalk to come out took over 4 weeks as they are 'dispatched' from the Mainland.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

Check BT for the cost of the landline connection .They probably charge £130 .0

When I was going to have Infinity installed maybe 3 years back installing a landline was free. When I took Plusnet fibre instead a year back that was a free landline install too.
Whoever you go with make sure to sign up through a cashback site (eg TopCashBack Quidco).0 -
Why would you go to Carphone Warehouse to order a hone phone from Talk Talk?0

TalkTalk are currently having a totally free Broadband for 1 year, line rental of £16 to be paid. Give them a ring and tell them you're interested but don't have a line. They may just install one for free. They did with me when BT wanted $120. Worth a phonecall.
