Hooray! First two of my NSDs completed yesterday- so I'm at 2/10 now and have completed my 2 consecutive days, too. :-D
Heading out to a birthday party for a dear friend tonight and really hoping to keep the spending in check so as not to totally undo all of the good work. Any tips? Maybe if I just withdraw the amount I'm prepared to spend and go home when it's run out? I never feel comfortable completely ciutting off access to funds on a night out (ie leaving the card at home) in case I get into an unexpected bind and need to get a cab (live in London so night transport isn't always reliable). It seems so obvious to only take what I'm prepared to spend, but I rarely if ever have any big spends or outlays and am getting better at budgeting for things like food and bills. Where I often fall off track is on the occasional nights out where I end up dropping more than I intended... Which I really need to get in hand!
I'd take the cash you think you need and just take a card for an emergeny but not use it unless dire straights (that does not include a round of cocktails or kebab on the way home :rotfl:) or take out enough cash for a cab should you need it but keep it in a sealed separate envelope.
Despite my best intentions, NSD are a bit thin on the ground, had a lovely meal out with OH last night. The meal itself was paid for but the cabs there / back and a couple of beers across at the pub after were not.
Today I went out with DM to have a mooch in the sales, came home with a suit jacket down from £15 from £70, but they didn't have the trousers so if I can't find them it will prob go back. Also got some joggers in hollister, although I did use a £20 gift card for some if that, and also a shirt and tshirt in ZaraFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

You would all be most welcome in Aberdeen (except Hubert, the locals haven't forgotten his ill-advised nude marathon going up and down Union Street 26 times). Sun is at a premium...us Aberdonians are famed for our tight purse stings and we frequently forget to top up the Sun meter. Having said that, I'm lead to believe that statistically we are the driest (rain-wise) city in the UK.
Thank you, thank you Agent Mankini!I hope you're not tiring of being called AM?Igor put me up to it.The devious so and so....Just say the word and I'll kick his ankles (again).Poor Igor, his ankles are looking a wee bit bruised...:(
Aberdeen is indeed a city close to my heart,as it was here in the granite streets that the 'rents met, fell in lurve and lived happily ever after....
My cold is almost gone and I have dozed all evening on the sofa.Yes,I'm feeling refreshed and ready to catch up on toting up all your wondrous nsds.Five pages to get through - nae problem,I'm 'on it'! :j:j:j0 -
Think i'd draw the line at dog or cat - but then again, if I was in such a situation even Igor would look tasty

Is everybody back on board after our Swedish excursion? Pity about the unscheduled prison visit, I still have no idea why that fight started in the restaurant. Someone said it was when Igor ordered, in Swedish, the roast chicken with cranberries, but an error in phrasing meant what he actually said to the waiter was " Go stick your head in a gnat' s scrotum you manky chicken molester."
And of course, when one of our gang gets nutted, the rest of us leap to their defence.......
Memo to self.....never ever ask Swedish Chef to give any more Swedish lessons......
