Whilst I dont tend to use the search wins myself they do not bother me, i can skim over them all quickly when I look at MSE in the evening. Yes I might miss something important but TBH I might miss something important anyhow...

good point - and I appreciate that you are happy to skim over them , and lots of people will agree with you. But some people have different thresholds - and again - I refer you to the email alerts that people get that are more difficult to skim over.

Imagine I posted this 'useful' post 10-15 times throughout the day on this thread from now on:

    "I earned 10 swagbucks a minute ago".

I'd be interested at what point everyone would get fed up with skimming over it and it started to actually negatively impact the forum....and I think thats the point some people here, including myself, are trying to make.

Anyway - I won't say anymore on this - again - I think the final decision is down to the OP on how this thread works.

The search things are a bit annoying, yes, but some of them seemed to have worked for me and some of them don't?

I'm thinking it may just be random and a coincidence that it works with the same terms as another user has said!

Can folks make a decision (moderators, help, maybe?) and stop wasting space by arguing, please?
Opinions obviously differ and there is no clear answer if search wins postings are useful.
I have set the thread to daily emails as I do have other things to do than wait for posts each minute all day but I check the thread during the day, so it's easily scrolled through new posts and any that are not interesting to me can be ignored.

Well we didn't ask people to stop posting, we just said there could be a separate thread. So you can find your inspiration there. Why it is difficult to stay on topic as what you are talking about not really what it was asked for? You and some others are acting like we are trying to ban search wins or something.

To me, go ahead and keep posting but at least just accept the fact that it is not as useful for everyone as you believe to be.

When the last 15 posts are about search wins, really everything else get lost within the thread.

asajj, you restarted this thread for 2015 and keep pointing out to the newbies to read the first post, well just to remind you in the first post, QUOTE.

Search: Random amounts of swagbucks are won from random searches, up to 3 wins a day, sometimes you might be lucky & get 4 wins.
You can also use the search bar at the top of the homepage
Search shorthand: 2nd win referred to as 'dubs', 3rd win = 'trips', 4th win = 'quads', ie 'dubs up' someone has got a second search win of the day. People may post what they searched when they won, sometimes others win with the same search term
Sometimes you are awarded collectors bills for searches (see below)

This encourages people to post search wins up to 4 a day each person so the amount of search wins actually posted are very small, it is a great help to the newbies to see what sort of searches are earning sb's and lots of oldies are using the search terms, some work some do not. Mostly I have stopped doing searches since the change in the search engine provider so posting on here I just skim past and ignore them, it's not a problem.
The original aim of this thread was to help all swagbuckers and by posting searches does this.
so much arguing only makes me want to post searches even more!

So? Yes I keep pointing out people as I don't feel like answering the same question 50 times and if noone will bother, then there is no need for a complete post. What you are doing is a bit cheeky here.
Does the post says to post every single search win here? No.

Just to get your own way, you are derailing the topic and both you and Wizzbang making it more of an issue than it actually is.

Enjoy your search wins, I'm not posting this thread anymore.

    oh what a palaver

as someone said its a forum people will post useful stuff and some will post not so useful stuff its how we use it everyone is different.

if you don't like it skim over it while i understand that people may get emails every time a new post is added others don't.

directly to asajj i hope you reconsider you bring some good info to this thread along with others you post to and i and others would miss it !

it would be a shame to stop over this :)

I'm not being cheeky just pointing out what the first post says, and to clarify it says Quote .....
" Search shorthand: 2nd win referred to as 'dubs', 3rd win = 'trips', 4th win = 'quads', ie 'dubs up' someone has got a second search win of the day. People may post what they searched when they won, sometimes others win with the same search term "
so it is encouraging us to post up to 4 search wins a day and it also says Quote .......
" sometimes others win with the same search term "

Some posters are saying you don't win by using these phrases but sometimes you do!
