Happy New Year!!
Hope you have had a lovely day. I have been decluttering and trying to sort out YNAB.
One day you will both have the issue that I have... Trying to incorporate the kick out of your Regular Savings (£3600 + interest) into your budget without accidentally wasting it or spending it on something that should be budgeted from your wages!!!!!!!!! I hope it is one day soonit is a good feeling. Other than that I am super skint, having just spent £940 on a macbook to replace my current 9 year old, hingeless and broken screened laptop with a monitor borrowed from work attached
So any thoughts on how to make that kind of money back? My body isn't in good enough nick to sell... :rotfl:

Hi DFOD & Lilt, had a nice day thanks.
We had a long lie and then chilled afternoon before walking down to my mum's in the bucketing rain. Got soaked but was too tight to pay for a taxi and didn't want to drive as we both wanted a drink (or 3) with our dinner.
:D Also walked home (20 mins each way) so that can count as our exercise for the day.
Had a lovely dinner with my mum but wee brother nowhere in sight as he was dying with a hangover. Mum said he didn't come back until 3pm today & was ill.
Really couldn't handle that amount of alcohol anymore. My DH went mad a few weeks ago drinking jägerbombs at his friends house (plus beer) and was so ill the next day he was actually crying. :rotfl: As I have a heart of stone I laughed my socks off at his dramatics before driving him to McDs for his hangover cure.
Was playing about with YNAB again today but will sit down properly tomorrow and try & sort it. Have already got DH to agree to set up a standing order to an old savings account every month for Birthdays & Christmas. Should help us budget for these more efficiently.
Planning on a day of housework tomorrow - have a mountain of ironing to do.Ordered an online shop from Waitrose today as they had sent a voucher for £14 off a £70 shop. So we stocked up on things and there were a lot of good deals as well. :j

Thanks BB, happy new year to you too.
Good news is I got all of the ironing done, took near enough 2 hours. But that was including 5 of DH's uniform shirts, would usually have been more shirts but I was off work sick. Just stuck Netflix on and watched that while I ironed.
Then went and cleaned the bathrooms and the mirrors, including the mirrored wardrobe doors - hate doing those!
DH hoovered the whole house and tidied up as well so house looking a lot better now.
Ordered replacement heads for my Clarisonic today - John Lewis were doing money off so was £31.50 instead of usual £35 for twin pack. I had some vouchers from surveys so that took it down to £11.50 and am doing click and collect so I don't need to pay £3 postage. :j
Also played about with YNAB a bit more and think I'm getting there. DH has the app on his phone as well so he can enter spends to the correct category as he goes. Also set up scheduled transactions for the bills etc.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. I love the scheduled things!! And the weird and wonderful schedules I have set up. Once for things I know are coming out randomly in the month but budgeted for and so I don't forget and have heart failure, 4 weekly for some income, monthly for other income!
I too hate cleaning mirrors and my glass fronted cabinet. I have a jellytot with horrid sticky fingers!
Well impressed with the clarisonic heads, although  at the usual cost. How long do they last?? And is it worth the hype?! xx

Lilt I think YNAB is addictive! Every day I think "oh I could do this/add that/ try it this way" :rotfl:
Lol at Jelly's sticky fingers, my mum always tells me the story about the stereo she had (pre-kids) that she used to polish lovingly, only for her nieces & nephews to come along & get it all fingerprinty while she was like
Clarisonic heads - yes I thought that too when I saw the price. According to the company you should replace them every 3 months. :rotfl: I've been using mine for 6 and it's only about now I think it needs replacing. It gets cleaned after every use anyway.
I asked DH for the Clarisonic for my 30th birthday present as had been eyeing it up for ages but was a bit put off by the price. Apparently there a few different companies doing them now as well, I think maybe Clinique & apparently they are good (and cheaper).
I only use it at night as I think twice a day is too much. I use a face wipe first to take off most of my make up and then the Clarisonic with face wash. It does remove all of my make-up - don't end up with the make-up residue on the towel anymore - and my skin feels softer and cleaner. I'm a fan.
I think it keeps my skin clearer & means I don't need to go for a facial as often (was going roughly every 3 months - usually when the girl was doing a deal but not always). I got into the facial habit in the run up to my wedding in 2013 and it's just so nice and relaxing. Have actually woke myself up snoring in the middle of a facial before.

Have paid £14 off the CC today, got £13 payment through from Quidco so paid that off plus my usual £1 a day. Get paid in just under 2 weeks so when we pay the usual £250 the CC should be under 2k. :j
Added up my debts properly last night & adjusted my sig. Have also added the debt we previously paid off to remind me that we can do it - we've done it before.Obviously this time I want the debt to go and to stay gone.
DH ordered bolts or hinges (or something like that) for our toilet seats as all three are shaky and coming loose but they are too small. We thought it would be a universal size.
This is a brand new house that we only moved into 7 months ago. Obviously with 3 toilets and 2 people the seats have only been lightly used (:rotfl:)so must be shoddy parts. Don't really know where to look for the bloody things now or even what size we need.
Just chilling out on my bed with the kitties collapsed next to me. DH is playing on his computer and we're waiting for our food delivery between 2 & 4pm.
Think we're going to make the Jamie Oliver fish pie for dinner as have had some cod fillets in the freezer for absolutely ages & really need to use them.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Forgot to add, I really need to start exercising again. Have been so lazy and got out of my routine.
Was previously doing 15 mins on the cross trainer (at high restistance) & then 20-30 mins of yoga or Pilates. This was every second day as every day on the cross trainer was hurting my knees.
On the in-between days was doing 30 mins of Yogalates. Was also doing a squat challenge which was toning me up as well. I hate exercise so really need to force myself but I need to lose at least a stone & tone up.
Will try and start my routine again on Monday. I do feel better after exercise but working shifts can make it harder to stick to my routine as well.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hey you
Yes YNAB is super addictive. I was almost tempted to scrap the last 7 months of work and start afresh for New Year but as I get my annual savings back on Monday with interest and have to factor it all into the budget I just figured I would leave it. I may yet change my mind. When I first started it was the 21st June or something and I painstakingly went back and entered everything from 28th May onwards :rotfl: as that was the first payday!
I LOVE you! You reminded me to check my quidco & have got a £20.09 payout waiting. I have cancelled the paypal it was set up to go to through (I had three, seriously!) and so have to wait til the 7th for them to verify my new bank details before it pays outevery little helps!
Thanks for the info on the clarisonic!! I have such ridiculously sensitive skin after I discovered an allergy to artichokes nearly 2 years ago now. Face blew up like Will Smith in Hitch & I've been uber sensitive (even toothpaste sets me off making my lips swell up!) and have to take 3-4 prescription antihistamines a day now ever since! So I think I will stick to my pampers baby wipesand 'Aapri' face scrub from Savers
lol! I wish I could have the high tech gear though. The most I can use is some incredible 1% retinol night cream that makes my face look and feel inhumanely good
so cheap compared to the 0.01% Roc and co ones
I cannot wait to start exercising. I am joining in with killerpeaty & supersaver2000 to do Pilates as soon as my back is up to it. Best thing for me! And I need to lose half a stone of Christmas weight and a stone of other miscellaneous weightxx
