Southampton Town Quay - Parking Eye Charge Notice

Options
Hello,
I've received a charge notice from Town Quay Parking Eye and they have sent me a letter with the amount due and two photos of my vehicle, entering and leaving the car park.

I parked in a Red Zone bay not reading it completely.
I saw that it was available to public parking from 7pm-6am and I parked, not thinking I had to get a ticket, but below on the same sign it does actually show to display a Pay and Display ticket at all times, i just had not seen this.

Ive seen the sticky post for NEWBIES, do i just simply copy paste the template email and wait for a appeal accepted response?

yes, just use a cut down version (remove the unnecessary complaint paragraphs) and submit it as an online appeal

admit nothing, not even who was driving

Yep. You will need to crop it down a bit to fit the 3,000 character limit of PE's online appeal process, so take out some of the 'rant' element, but don't 'mess' with the main legal/technical points. In doing so, be very careful not to reveal the identity of the driver (especially so for this location).

Of late, PE have been accepting forum-based appeals at the first pass. Of particular importance is to get this appeal off within the PE timescale deadline.

    Okay thanks,
shall i remove the below from the template?

Your clients should be thoroughly ashamed of the shoddy way you treat consumers visiting their premises. The landowner will be made fully aware of this matter and your response, which I will forward to their CEO when I complain in writing and via social media, as appropriate.

Parking firms like yours fail to demonstrate even a basic understanding of customer service. The reputation of your business model appears to be more akin to a protection racket than 'parking management'. Your ATA may offer sound-bites about driving up standards or fight for motorists' rights but in reality they are not a regulator; they merely exist to represent the interests of paying members, in order to gain access to DVLA data. The public have no faith in the private parking industry and, as far as I have seen, your firm has not shown itself to be any different than the ex-clampers with whom you share a membership.

The email via the web form has been sent.
i couldnt narrow the complaint down to less than 3000 characters so i just put it in a word document and sent it as an attachment with their add file option.
how long till i get a reply usually?

They have 35 days to accept your appeal and cancel the charge or reject it and send you a POPLA code.

I'm a bit uneasy about you attaching a Word file. Did you put a precis of your appeal points in the web form, cross referencing your attached Word file?

I genuinely don't know whether they will accept that or not; it's just that any excuse to avoid a forum aided appeal might be taken.

You might want to resend with the bullet point headers of your appeal in the appeal box, then a final sentence cross referencing your Word.doc attachment containing a more detailed appeal.

Have you had an electronic confirmation that your appeal has been received? Did it also acknowledge your attachment?
