oh Charleston lessons sound fun! and you don't 'need' a partner! give it a go!
I used to go to 'Modern Ballroom' evenings when I was in my early twenties - I met my OH there. considering I am a heavy metal fan, it was something 'different' to do, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. sometimes just doing something out of the ordinary can be great fun!
tbh thinking about this has brought back a lovely memory. of my late FIL who knew I did Modern Ballroom, taking me onto the dance floor for the first time for a 'quickstep', and we gathered a crowd! honestly, we danced lovely together - like Astaire and Rogers! it was just so much fun and forged a bond with my FIL which lasted until he died.

RicardaRacoon - go for it!! Sounds brilliant and a really fun way to spend an evening and keep fit. I subscribe to the adage that you regret what you didn't do more than what you did do ;) and as you say - if it's not for you, not much spent. I'm sure you'd have fun & you can tell us all about it :)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I just saw that a dancing school near where I live advertised Solo Charleston lessons and wonder if I should just try it out. Was looking for a suitable course for me for a while now. Dancing courses for waltz and that kind are very hard to find as a single and although I would love to take lessons in ballett dancing I know that I'm far too clumsy and "unelegant" for that... So I might just take the plunge and subscribe. The course is quite inexpensive and in case I absolutely don't like it it is little money spent.... Will have to sleep over it and then decide next week.

    Hi Ricarda,

Some salsa / latin dancing schools use a 'circle' type of teaching, where the men stand in an outer circle, and the women in the inner circle. After practising a step a few times, the women move to the next men. If the number of men and women is not equal, some people have to wait for a bit, but never longer than 5 minutes. I like the fact that I get to learn with different partners; it makes it easier to 'really' dance at a party with someone who invites you out of the blue :)
It's also how I met my husband

Everyday, I minimise my housework by standing with my calves against the bath while I brush my hair. All loose hairs tumble into the bath, and can be easily collected (I usually use the shower to flush them to the little strainer-on-the-drain (what's that in English, please?)).

Don't know what it's called but we have one Siebrie It sounds like a good idea I will try getting DS to brush his long hair over the bath. I am sick of his hair being all over the house.
