I've not seen this new format forum yet. I wonder if it is because when they changed it once before I followed the instruction to go back to the old format so I didn't get updated.
I can still enlarge fonts with a dragged out pinch on my screen.

Shouldn't be on here. Still haven't hung out my washing yet. I've been galivanting all over the place and neglecting the home. :D

Are those vouchers just in todayd paper, bargainhunterss, and how long do we have to use them before they expire?
There looks to be a few bargains there that would benefit us.

They're in today's paper and according to the post I read they expire at the end of the month (i.e. 30th April). But I heard this second hand, double check the Ts & Cs on the vouchers if you get them!:o

I can't read it on my phone without stretching the page out, and even then it is still too small to read easily. At least my data useage will drop if I can't be bothered to strain my eyes & check the threads during my lunchtime!!

    Morning all

Well I ended up getting a call to do a shift on Wednesday and worked a long day yesterday so the only thing I have managed to get done in the past few days is the washing. The ironing pile is now massive so that is this mornings job. I don't start work until 3 today so plenty of time.

I have had a lovely breakfast today of a YS pain au chocolat. I was saving it for a nice Sunday breakfast one weekend but thought I better eat it in case my results come back that I am coeliac. I have quite a lot of YS bakery goods in the freezer so hopefully not - I'd be annoyed if I could no longer eat them!

I bought a new pair of work trousers yesterday as the pair I had needed mended again. I had already mended them twice and they were looking really tatty so I thought it's time for a new pair.

Right I better get moving and get some stuff done. Hope everyone has a lovely Friday :)

    Morning All,

What a glorious day it is here, even though the weather forecast keeps telling me it won't last!

I'm feeling ridiculously pleased with myself as I've just done one of those little jobs that for some reason you keep putting off. Some of the hooks and rings on my very heavy interlined bedroom curtains had come off quite some time ago and had been sitting in a bowl in my bedroom looking at me reproachfully. So before I did anything else this morning I unscrewed the pole, took everything down, brushed the curtains, cleaned the pole and got it all up again without any help. I just need them to settle back into their folds now.

Here's a lovely, light and cheap recipe for lunch or as a first course for dinner.

    Cheese and tomato souffl!s - serves 6

25grams butter, 350ml whole milk, 115grams grated cheddar cheese, 50grams sun-dried tomatoes in olive oil, drained, plus 10ml of the oil, 130grams grated grano padano cheese, 4 large eggs, separated, 25grams plain flour, salt and ground black pepper to taste.

Melt the butter in a pan then stir in the flour to form a paste and cook for a minute. Pour in the milk and stir until smooth, then bring to the boil, stirring continuously. Stir in the cheddar and mix until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth.

Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees/gas 6. Tip the cheese sauce into a bowl. Thinly slice the sun-dried tomatoes and add them to the sauce with 90grams of grano padano and the egg yolks. Season well and stir.

Brush the sides and bases of 6 200ml ramekins or individual souffl! dishes with the oil, then coat the insides with half of the remaining cheese, tilting them until evenly covered. Tip out any excess cheese and set aside.

Whisk the egg whites in a clean, grease-free bowl until stiff. Use a large metal spoon to stir one quarter of the egg whites into the sauce, then fold in the remaining egg whites.

Spoon the mixture into the ramekins or souffle dishes and sprinkle with the reserved cheese. Place on a baking sheet and bake for about 15-18 minutes or until the souffl! is well risen and golden. Serve immediately with a mixed green salad.

People are wary about making souffles, thinking they are difficult. If you follow the recipe step by step and have all your ingredients ready before you start I think you will be pleasantly surprised how easy they are, and, most importantly they are cheap to make.

I'm going outside to enjoy this wonderful sunshine whilst it lasts - have a good day, Folks.

    Viv xx
