Ive tried to find one everywhere but i'm unable to. I'm trying to determine if its faulty as it doesnt just autotune?
Did you buy the Blaupunkt NE-6106 too?

Or is yours a different model? If so, please tell us your model.
  • DAB's been dead for years. It was around in '95 long before iPods let alone iPhone's. GOV thought the'yd make a killing flogging the old wavelength spctrum but never made a penny so lost interest. Shame on them, the BBC did lots of excellent work on quality signals for DAB now sadly wasted. We have HD3DTV yet DAB never managed HD radio and the obsolete MP2 low-rate codec it uses is worse than FM. The main drawback with FM was the hissing from an aerial with a weak signal, strong FM reception is the best sound around but may require you to leg up a drainpipe and put up a roof aerial. Best of luck.

I love my FM tuner. Except it's just broke, & it's only 24 years old! Repair will take a week or two so I'm listening to digital - it's awful.

I use FM but am lucky enough to have had a full DSP tuner since the early 80's. My point is that a good quality AV receiver can be had cheap if you are patient. Ebay ~ auction only ~ collect only ~ nearest first - will, with care grab a gud'n because people upgrade because of insufficient HDMi's in this modern world + they are far to heavy to post. Think about a working remote & enough HDMi in they are the difficult ones to get cheap. best of luck.

Since the Blaupunkt NE-6106 has only ten DAB station presets, my guess is that WLM21 needs to read the manual to determine how to assign the desired stations to the ten presets.

(I note that WLM21 posted this question in December.)

What a complete waste of time DAB is.... still! Can't believe it's still so !!!!.
  • - FM is a cheaper trans-system for small, local radio stations for example a single transmitter can cover a 30 mile radius
    - Ofcom decided the treasury would not benefit from the proposed spectrum auction and investment and even maintenance ceased
    - @ that time 90%+ were satisfied with the choice of radio stations in their area
    - @ that time 70%+ consumers only listened to 2 stations, paying to put out 100's was pointless
    - @ that time sat-nav, mobile phones, mp3 players etc were already FM integrated not one single mobile UK mobile has DAB
    - multiplex delivered geographical coverage was poor and DAB was optimised for in-car, rather than in-buildings

The list was / is endless FM was and is the only practical means of radio in the UK. For a whole year BBC4 TV broadcast its music archives such as the 'grey whistle test', many of us tuned into the simultaneous [simulcast] HQ broadcast radio receivers with our DSP's via S/PDIF optical audio. Shame it all ended dead in the water, but we have what we have. NOTE : [Opinion]Most DAB radios then and now are factory defaulted to tune to pre DAB March 2012 format meaning that most that were / are bought can not get and hold decent reception anyway. Best of luck

    Thanks !

I've actually just found that site and checked my postcode (NE26 3HZ) Only 4 stations appear, none of which I get.

My old radio, which I had had for about 5 years picked all the BBC channels without problems. It also worked with LBC (London) until the channel stopped broadcasting nationally.

I never replaced the radio for a while, as LBC was no longer available. I understand it is once again broadcasting all over the country, which is why i thought it was time to get a new radio

Whitley Bay is one of the scheduled locations to have a new transmitter by September 2016, so if you can hang on ......
