Santa brought me a new DAB radio, after my last one finally packed in.
I've set it up, carried out the autoscan and can only pick up a handful of stations.
I live near Newcastle upon Tyne and the only stations I have are ..
Absolute Radio 90's
Absolute Radio 60's
Absolute Radio Rock
Capital
Heart
Heat
Magic
Metro
Smooth
The Hits
I actually like to listed to LBC, which i did on my last radio but there's no sign of that.
BBC radio is also totally missing (except for the local Radio Newcastle)
is it the fault of the radio, or is it something else. the radio is a Blaupunkt NE-6106
Thanks !

You might be in a blackspot or weak area for DAB radio reception...
check your postcode here:

I've actually just found that site and checked my postcode (NE26 3HZ) Only 4 stations appear, none of which I get.
My old radio, which I had had for about 5 years picked all the BBC channels without problems. It also worked with LBC (London) until the channel stopped broadcasting nationally.
I never replaced the radio for a while, as LBC was no longer available. I understand it is once again broadcasting all over the country, which is why i thought it was time to get a new radio0 -
I have a dab radio but find reception very patchy. I now just use an app on my phone, BBC iPlayer radio is very good. If you have unlimited WiFi this route would be better.0

What antenna are you using?0

What antenna are you using?
Just the standard one which is on the radio.
I'll just return it ... I can't be bothered faffing about. If it doesn't pick up a signal with the antenna provided, I'll just have to stick with listening to the radio using my iPhone
thanks anyway for your reply0 -
See BBC digital link
According to getdigitalradio.com you should get good /fair reception all national BBC radio together with 20 odd commercial including LBC see this link0 -
Hello
I've recently bought one of these radios and can't work out how to scan for channels. I press the menu button and then turn the volume know untill it says automatic but don't know what to press to get it to start?0 -
Do you not have an instruction book? Have you searched for one online? I suspect they are all different. With mine it's menu>tuning>autotune.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

The main problem is the sets are really poor, you need to spend quite a bit to get a good one that has a good enough receiver, the sub £100 ones all have the same chipset which is less than useless.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

Ive tried to find one everywhere but i'm unable to. I'm trying to determine if its faulty as it doesnt just autotune?0
