Best way to cancel Tiscali without messing up new provider?

Options
Hi.

As some of you may know mum's line moved onto TalkTalk however this did not cancel the Tiscali service, probably because it was a BT to LLU move rather than solely BT to BT.

Anyway, I was wondering on the best way to cancel Tiscali without them trying anything to the line that might affect TalkTalk.

Direct debit goes out on 6th August, I was suggesting just cancelling it, giving e-mail notice to Tiscali now and seeing what happens. Or should I let them take the payment and then chase up? We're effectively on an e-mail only service and not getting the broadband despite paying the full price for it.

Cheers.

Dont bother with email contact, phone them up to cancel, that way you can ensure its cancelled.

Does anyone have a telephone number that's '01 or '02? I tried saynoto0870 but the only number tht worked was 0870, and from when I had to call them up a while back they were always busy and I was asked to call later, ran up a phone bill just from the 20 or so call connection charges for the various attempts.

in my experience of tiscali you are better off cancelling the DD as they will just keep on taking it they owe my 3 months rental at 15.99 and I haven't seen a penny of it...:D

Yay, getting mum to do that, pity I can't get some money back for the time I was without broadband after the switch (19/07) but as this wasn't Tiscali's fault and I doubt they even knew (no correspondence from them) I guess I'll have to settle with the savings we're making with talkTalk which outweigh it (3 months free TalkTalk service).

    Thanks.
