I always live in hope that SP mess up a Solicitors Gas\Electric bill and he takes them to court as someone needs to.0

We signed up for boiler care from Scottish power, paid two months direct debits and then were told that the position of the boiler (in loft) was not suitable for them to service. The engineer said our payments would be refunded but after a few weeks we rang to check and were told a cheque would be sent out in 4 to 5 working days. Still nothing so rang again to be told no, it's not 4 to 5 days that's wrong, it's 5 to 6 weeks. What is wrong with them ? Thankfully we are not owed hundreds like some on here but it's our money not theirs and they are quick enough to take money but, it seems, far from quick to refund it. We changed from NPower to EDF and I thought NPower were bad but we got refunds from them without asking within a couple of weeks.0

Dam,
Switched to SP in August to a lower tarrif. Direct debit set up for £96 a month. Bill due in January.
No direct debit has been taken now bill had changed to July. I have emailed constantly and keep getting the same response that it will be dealt with in 5 days and nobody comes back to me.
Send them meter readings and nothing changes.
i am now going to switch and I want to be in control of my electric and actually pay for it.:mad::mad:0 -
They are bloody hopeless!
I have been with them for years and they were great. I could submit meter readings on 1st of the month and it would generate a bill there and then so I'd know how much the last month had cost me.
I moved house in June and had to close the account and open a new one.
The new computer system is utter rubbish. I submit readings and get nothing - no bill or anything. I get reminders that I haven't submitted my meter readings - err yes I have.
I haven't had a bill at all until earlier this week. It is estimated readings (even though I've submitted actual ones) and is only for Gas and not for electric.

add me to the disgruntled list . awaiting final bill and refund of over £300 from switch to Eon. Send emails to them on their system and get pat responses. I am dreading phjoning them and wasting my time. looks like another for the ombudsman."if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170

I'm having exactly the same experience. (Including a bill for gas but not electric. I spoke to someone for the second time at SP regarding the same issues including meter reading issues and their representative said that more or less that they could not fix it !!0 -
Same problems here. I joined them in May 2014. Took ages to get the initial readings agreed with previous supplier despite me giving both suppliers the same readings, Scottish Power still managed to screw it up.
Since May 2014 my Electric account is not showing online and they haven't billed me for it yet. I've had my first gas bill in December which was wrong, and an updated one today which is wrong again. Still no news on when they might give me an electric bill!
I'm not too worried about the money as I have been paying a monthly DD which is going to cover the electric bill when it does come in, but it is concerning they can't sort their systems out.
Have raised numerous complaints which are all ignored.
Now switching to Co-operative Energy, but I am sure that is going to be a challenge to get Scottish Power to let me go!0 -
I'm freaking out reading everything here Re SP!!!
i got a letter in December 2014, saying due to technical glitch we were one of the customers who had slipped through the net and there could be problems. Until now i had never really worried about online account, i knew we paid our DD with no problems. We have been with SP for 14 yrs!!!!
when i went in to our SP account i noticed that in november 2014, the had issued 3 bills on the 18th Nov 2014 for near £3000!!
and then i started to check previous online bills and we were being billed from as far back as June 2012.
then when i looked even more closely, our bills were duplicated, so on bill one (18/11/14) and bill two (18/11/14) we were charge twice for elec
and on bill two and bill three wad duplicated for gas.
then i found another bill in July2014, that was dated back to 2012!!
so i rang, got help, a lady said they would ring me back and never heard from them since. i've sent 4 emails.
oh and on top of that, they have been in my account and changed the bills! they look totally different to what they looked like in DEc2014. LUCKY I TOOK SCREEN SHOTS!
I've contacted CAB, they have upgrade me to special support. Ive contacted offgem too.
but after reading the above I'm stuffed!!
we've been paying £146 for the past 2 years, but since the beginning of this new year we've had to increase it to £168.
i want to jump ship and go to someone cheaper, but i am scared we will get stitched up and never get this resolved. I'm sure they owe us money,
from Nove 2014 to jan 2015 we had run up a bill of over £700, thats after they took £3000 ( granted that was for previous years) but how could we have run up that kind of bill in under 7 weeks!!!????
i'm so tired, so stressed and so miserable. and coping with a baby.
Oh and I'm new to this website. Am i in the right place? should i be posting here?0 -
Add me to the list of unhappy SP customers. I switched from SP in December but have still not received my outstanding credit as they have a problem with my gas reading that they are endeavouring to sort out. I don't hold out much hope of a refund of my money which amounts to over £250. But at least they haven't continued to take out money from my Direct Debit which I have left open (as suggested in their literature as it will make it easier for them to credit my account once account is closed). Thank goodness I am not desperately waiting for my money, although I did have it earmarked for paying off part of my credit card bill. Just stuck in the complaints system now.Mortgage free 10 years early and retired at the age of 55:j0
