I have read all your diary now nowpanicking and can see how hard you are working at sorting your finances. I really admire your tenacity and how you take all the responsibility for finances in your home. You try so hard to be fair to everybody it sometimes seems you are not fair on yourself. Do make sure you factor in some little treats for when you have been successful and well done for showing your son how to begin to budget , he will be very grateful for that as he grows up. Well done and keep going .0

Monday again!! The weeks are just flying in at the moment. Was a fairly busy weekend and was quite spendy. We all went out for lunch on Saturday which was lovely. It has been a good whole since we were all out so was nice. Split the bill 50/50 between mine and OH personal spends.
We also spent the bulk of the family days out budget. This happened last pay as well. It seems that £50 doesn't last very long. It worked out OK the last time however, as days out after that were walks etc so can do that again this month.
Achievements for today are:
- Today has been an NSD which is great
- Went to the gym
- meal per meal planner
- hm soup for lunch
- no unhealthy snacks
Funds are:
£151.61 Groceries
£43.58 Petrol
£87.70 tobacco
£40.65 my personal spends
£30.65 OH personal spends
£0.00 DS pocket money transferred to DS account
£6.03 Family days out
£0.00 school lunches
£38.00 house
£10.00 DS hair/clothes
£408.22 Total
£20.00 cash in purse
£16.00 cash for school lunches
24 days until payday.
Have a lovely evening everyone

Thank you MrsLottie and Choccygirl123 😊 I do feel different this time so I'm just hoping that it will last and that I can stick to the budgets for the long haul. It would be so good to be debt free by the time I am 50

Hi everyone,
I've not posted in almost 2 weeks and the budgeting is not going well. I've had to buy a new fridge/freezer which has had to come out of the savings and I'm not doing so well on the spend budget either. I'm going to have to do a bit of shuffling with the main account to cover my overspends.
Areas of overspend are petrol as we've done quite a bit of running about this month and on our personal spends. We've had a rough couple of weeks with some family issues and as a result we've been spending on treats to make us feel better. Short term happy, long term not so good on the budget.
I'm feeling a bit fed up to be honest. The savings have taken a hit and I had been planning on putting a deposit on a family holiday, most likely a cottage or something like that in the UK but I'm going to have to wait to top up the savings again.
On a positive note I've still not increased my debt and the cc statements are all in so I'm going to update my signature.
Hope everyone else is getting on well with their DFW journey!!!

OK so I've reduced debt by a further 1.68% which is great and signature is now updated
I do find the last 2 weeks of the pay period a struggle every time and I know that if I spread the spending money out this wouldn't happen. However, if we even go out for a light lunch then we are probably overspending on a weeks allocation. Sorry, I feel like I'm just having a moan todayIt will all feel better in a couple of weeks I'm sure. I think I'm just a bit fed up due to the savings taking such a hit.
Anyway, onwards and upwards!!!
Funds are:
£44.88 Groceries
£-23.48 Petrol
£29.37 tobacco
£-7.84 my personal spends
£-9.23 OH personal spends
£0.00 DS pocket money transferred to DS account
£0.00 Family days out
£0.00 school lunches
£0.72 house
£4.78 DS hair/clothes
£39.20 Total
£0.77 cash in purse
£5.00 cash for school lunches
11 days until payday.
As you can see I have minus amounts !!! I'm going to transfer £50 from the main account (I've had to go through my annual budget spreadsheet that deals with all the dd's etc which come out of the main account to do a bit of shuffling with savings later on etc).
Next post will be the updated funds with the additional £50.New starting debt 30/12/2018 £30,164.76:eek:

OK revised funds for remaining 11 days until pay day:
£46.20 Groceries
£0.00 Petrol
£23.00 tobacco
£10.00 my personal spends
£10.00 OH personal spends
£0.00 DS pocket money transferred to DS account
£0.00 Family days out
£0.00 school lunches
£0.00 house
£0.00 DS hair/clothes
£89.20 Total
£0.77 cash in purse
£5.00 cash for school lunches
11 days until payday.
I've basically reshuffled everything, giving myself and DH £10 each until payday, covering tobacco and increasing groceries slightly. It's not the way I was intending to budget. My plan was for house and DS hair/clothes to carry forward any underspend each month to try and build up these funds. It's just not worked out that way this time so my main aim now is to stay within the revised budget and not go onto credit card spending.
Have a lovely Sunday afternoon everyone
