  • Just don't try and end your contract early Maria cos the grief & pain will be unbelievable .. Curiously they wrote to me last week saying THEY'D TURNED OVER A NEW LEAF And Would I Consider Coming back .. I said I would consider it ONLY If They Returned The £140 (circa) figure they extorted out of me .. Needless to say there's been no response ..
  • Dear Bill ,

We’ve changed, will you give us another chance?

We have made lots of changes recently, to ensure we give the highest service levels we have ever achieved. This includes improving the number of times we fix a problem in one visit, the speed in which we answer the phone, and the equipment all our engineers receive to ensure they are COVID aware during this difficult period.
MARIA & ALL .. I don't think this company will ever change ...
  • I would have nothing to do with this company whatsoever . My neighbour had big issues with them and told me how bad they were .   Avoid at all costs according to her

Hi everyone, have posted a copy of the final complaint we sent to 247 Home Rescue to give you an idea of the two unbearable years we had with them. We went to court with them, and were successful in our claim. Just prior to going to court, 247 Home Rescue deducted two payments of £216 from my bank account, stating it was for boiler cover!? I had cancelled any boiler cover I had with them by sending letters by recorded delivery to two of their addresses listed on the companies house website. One of the letters was received and signed for, despite this, they still stated we owed the money. I claimed the money back through my bank and reported them for fraud. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my nearly half century on this earth!!!!
Here's the final complaint we sent: etc etc
It would be helpful if people who make lengthy posts to MSE actually clarified what it is that they're seeking to tell others about.
You say you took 24/7 to court. You don't say on what grounds?
It was presumably a small claims civil action, and therefore one which any other abused 24/7 customer could follow as a precedent.
Absent that kind of information, the only reaction to this post has to be 'good on you', but why are you not sharing the actual detail so that your experience is of genuine, constructive use to others on MSE?
  • 24/7 Home Rescue - AVOID THEM

paid £24.99 per month for boiler and plumbing
    • They refused to come out and fix a leaking tap, saying that it was not covered in plumbing. This must be the most used piece of internal plumbing. Referred me to small print.
    • Came to service the boiler, which included free parts and labour in the agreement. The engineer identified a fault, which they said would cost £260.40, including parts and labour. When I claimed that free parts and labour were in my contract, they said no and I should refer to paragraph 14.
    • I have kept all the email replies that confirm my claims. This is not malicious, but a warning to others to avoid them

Avoid this company at all costs

  • Would give zero stars if I could. Please don't be deceived by their flashy brochure. Disgusting service and they will use every clause in their terms and conditions to not process your claim. Please please find someone else. British Gas cost a lot but will do the job they promise to you.

If This Be The REAL 24/7 Who change their title from time to time, then AGNOSTIC If You get out of contract on the terms you've outlined above (It'll be a Miracle) You May Think Yourself Very Lucky Indeed .... They Are The Stuff Of Nightmares!!!!!
  • Forgot to mention: This is their definition of what it takes for them to come and visit                                                                                                                                  EMERGENCY - A sudden and unexpected event which, if not dealt with quickly, would in the reasonable opinion of 24|7 Home Rescue: a) Render the Property unsafe or insecure; or b) Damage or cause further damage to the Property; or c) Cause personal risk to you; or d) Cause a health and safety risk to others.                                                                                                               Doesn't sound like your usual breakdown contract to me - got to be close to death or building destruction !!

. . .Basically you pay for a service that they are not bound to deliver. And they've got you over a barrel when you seek recompense. Spread the word - they're a bunch of crooks.. .
This post should be pinned to the start of the thread for anyone seeking guidance about 24/7 Home Rescue.
The above description is succinct, accurate, and couldn't be clearer.

The business, such as it is, should be put out of business, but no Internet forum or discussion thread is ever going to achieve that.
Action will only happen  when disgruntled, misled and abused 24/7 Home Rescue customers stop wasting their time complaining on the Internet and instead write to their local constituency Member of Parliament seeking her/his intervention. It's surprising what an MP's involvement does to a dodgy business, especially when that MP talks to the regulator as well.

Customer complaints mean nothing to 24/7 Home Rescue otherwise there'd be no cause for complaint after all this time. Members of Parliament and public alike are entitled to form the impression that the business was deliberately set up to accrue the largest amount of profit  by wilfully eschewing ethical standards.
