Ok so Lauren 24/7 Home Rescue told us this a few days ago ..............
We can assure you that customers of 24/7 Home Rescue are not given an incentive in order to provide positive feedback over the Trustpilot site. This would be in breach of the site’s guidelines that we ensure are met with all feedback received from our customers.
It did not take me long to find this gem and just confirm what type of company they are.

Was FORCED to give 24 7 Home Rescue a 5 star rating on here and told I would get 1 month free cover and if I didn't do it I would be subject to close my Account. NEVER seen a company practically beg customers to leave a good review and bribe them with a month free.

Just wanted to say I wish I had read the reviews on this site before I signed up to 24/7 I foolishly only read the trust pilot site.
I have had dreadful service and customer service no use at all, same problems as everyone else but am in the middle of waiting for a return visit so don't want to say more in case they mess up even more.
Can I just cancel without incurring any more charges?0 -

I think if you have had a service or used an engineer. They will try and hold you to a full year contract.
To be frank, I still believe it will be cheaper with a better quality service/repair to just go with someone else and let their contract run out and then cancel the dd. I would have nothing to do with them.0 -
Here we go again Lauren.
Trustpilot.

I urge caution to anyone considering taking out a policy with this company. I read good reviews and when taking out my boiler cover I found 247 helpful and enthusiastic. The phone was answered quickly, questions answered, advice given. As soon as I’d signed up I had a number of calls asking me to leave a 5 star review on Trust Pilot in return for 2 months free cover. I said I would do that once I’d used their services.0 -
My dad used these {Text removed by MSE Forum Team} and when his heating broke down they were next to useless. Eventually he had to pay an independent local heating engineer to fix it.
I use British Gas, and so does he now. Not the cheapest, but service much much better0 -
I am with 24/7 Home Rescue and was very dissatisfied with the service I received. {Text removed by MSE Forum Team} they have cost me hundreds of pounds.
I thought I could cancel any time, so I stopped my direct debit but it got reinstated. I tried again. Again, it was reinstated. This time, I received an email saying I can't cancel until my year is up (I hadn't realised that I was tied into a year's contract). I then set out to cancel in the month I was told it was up, but when I checked on the website for the address to write to, I found that I was supposed to give 30 days' notice, so I'd missed my chance. Also, my monthly payment had tripled!
I begged my bank to stop the direct debit their end, which they did, but now I'm receiving constant texts from the company asking me to contact them in order to prevent arrears from building. I called Citizens' Advice, but they haven't returned my call yet.
Am I going to have to reinstate my payments until my year is up? I'm never actually going to use their service again, so it's money down the toilet. I don't want threatening letters from bailiffs!0 -
Hi Helen.
I think if you use their service in anyway, even for a annual service. Then this ties you into a years contract. Now this on its own is not unrealistic or unfair. If I claim on my cooker insurance, I still have to stay with them or pay up the year.
However if you have not used their service then I believe yes its a monthly contract. If you have started a new year. Give them 30 days, do not use them of course and then stop the DD.
They did the same to me until my bank blocked them. I never used them in the year so they had nothing on me. After this just block them and move on.
Ohh and I have been watching them for a while. {Text removed by MSE Forum Team}0 -
It's hard to remember the timeline of events, but I'm sure the one and only time I used them was a year and a half ago. I didn't give notice at all because I didn't think there was any point after I read that I'd need to give 30 days prior to August; I realised that I'd missed the boat. I literally ended up just getting the bank to stop the DD. In this case, do you think they will pass my "debt" to a debt collection agency?
I think my best bet is to send a letter explaining what I've done and why, and hope that they get off my back and close my account their end.0 -
My downfall is failinh to give notice, isnt it? What i might do is send a letter with notice and enclose a cheque for one month's fee... do you think?0

Send them f*** all and let them sue. (I'm perfectly serious.)
I'd love to see these {Text removed by MSE Forum Team} try to justify their nonsense in court. They never will of course, and always settle out of court if anyone sues them.0
