Bummer WfH, but on the other hand if you hadn't paid off so much the debt would be well above 4k - you are doing great!

I know you do full time, but is there any chance of a shift at a pub one evening a week, that would bring a bit extra in.

You're right I would be royally screwed if I hadn't being paying it off.

Unfortunately because I already do shift work and don't know what shifts I'll be doing until the beginning of each week it's immpossible for me to have 2 jobs :/ I tried cleaning people's homes last year but because I was so unreliable due to my shift patterns they ditched me at Xmas. Now all I can do is sell my odd ends and do a few of these apps xx

  • I have had the worst couple of days getting over sickness and diarrhoea. I've managed to go over a decade without catching it until now. Feeling a bit tender and scared to eat, understandably. I'm hoping I can start to eat a bit more normally today.

I had to take a day off work due to it which means I've lost £45 from my wage packet. So far I've been unable to make any extra money this month. I need to get some stuff together to sell on eBay.

  • I know it's been awhile since I updated. I've been avoiding my finances which I know isn't the best idea. I haven't been trying to save money but I also haven't been spending either. Just working my normal hours at work and going out less - or - only going out when There's an offer to be had like 2 for 1 meals and cheap Tues at cinema.

I was pleasantly surprised to find by debt has now gone down to £3108.93 :rotfl:

That means I have cut my debt by £971.07 since December 14 and well on my way to my first goal of reaching £3000 by August. I guess the best thing I can do is to carry on not spending.

Bye bye May! August isn't far round the corner now but I am happy to announce that as of today I have managed to repay £985! My goal was to repay £1000 by August and I think I might just hit that target early. My second goal was to repay £2000 by the end of the year. If the rest of the year goes smoothly I can see that happening.

I wish I could tell you all the tips and tricks I've used to do this but there wasn't any. Simply I am lucky to have a reduced rent to pay right now as I rent a home from a family member but also I haven't splurged on anything. I've used vouchers, money off coupons, Tesco & Boots points etc to save where I can and I keep my outgoings separate in a joint account with my partner. Groupon has been a money saver as I couldn't give up going to the cinema, so I've been buying reduced tickets on there.

I tried the May challenge but as I have nothing to sell I didn't save any money. I might try again in June.

I done my shopping online for the first time yesterday. I ended up saving £12 off my £60 shop as it was my first time. I was expecting to end up with loads of short dates and replacements but everything was good. I will be doing it this way again for sure. Only costs £1 delivery and that's cheaper than the petrol for me to get to the shops and back 👍

Thanks Nat as you saw I'm over there now. Still don't know how people manage to save so much though. I don't have enough hours in the day or patience to sit on all those apps. I use VoxPop and Clic and walk mainly but used them for ages and not cashed out yet.

I think they get so wrapped up in making money that a few pence seems like pounds! Its just not worth my time anymore, Ive been doing it long enough to know that its fine when starting out but not long term.
