My New Years resolution is a tad early but I need to start writing down my experience of paying off debt so I don't slip. It's so easy to fall back into old ways.
Firstly I have £4,080 worth of debt. To some that may seem a lot and to others not very much depending on what debts you have yourself. For me it's excruciating.
It's years worth of accumulated debts from having to work 0hr contract jobs and I still am at McDonalds. My first point of action is to find a more secure job that pays better than £6.51 p/h. If I earnt just £200 more a month I could halve my debt in a year!
I am a member of Bubblews which helps gain a small amount of extra cash (find me to connect &WSEngland) but I want to join some survey sites but see some are invitation only. I ask those of you that can please send your invitations my way. I will also be selling stuff at car boots come spring as I have loads of junk to get rid of and carboot a are easiest.
I hope to have saved some money by my next post :T

What other skills do you have? I work mostly from home (Clerking) - so you could do something like that as well as your full time job.0

I like to write and craft. I was planning on writing an Ebook of short stories to sell on Amazon but that may be awhile yet.
I don't want to make anything to sell really as that requires much time, materials and postage fees. To much hassle when I work full time.DEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £391119/4 £3108.93 :T 31/5 £3095.12

HAPPY NEW YEAR :T
I've got January off to a roaring start. I recalculated my debts and after a payout of £43 from BubbleWS and money from family over Christmas my debts have been reduced by £174. This takes my debts down to £3906.
My short term goal is to reach £3000 by August 2015. That gives me 8months to find £906 (that's roughly £113 p/m). I know it can be done!
Things to do to find money:
1. BubbleWS
2. Persona Paper
3. Field Agent (if any jobs come up in my area)
4. Find more survey sites
5. Carboots/ebay/facebook my old stuff
6. Extra shifts or hours at work
What are you doing to find money?DEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £391119/4 £3108.93 :T 31/5 £3095.12

As I have absolutely nothing in savings I had decided to try and save £10 a week, but after 52 weeks I would only have £520, so had upped it to £12 a week, but have rounded it up to £15 a week now, and saving any £2 coins that come along. Also pop the odd pound coin into savings whenever possible. This has required massive discipline on my part as I could easily spend that money on something else!
I'm also trying to save any change I have in my purse (payment a day - PAD) and have over £6 saved so far. I tend to fall back on this when I have no money at all and need something small like bananas or milk, this way I don't use my cash card.
I'm not doing any sale shopping and trying to spend the absolute minimum on anything I buy, menu plan and buy nothing I don't need for 2015.
This might sound like not very much to try and save but it's a lot for me, have you had a really good look at your finances and tried to cut back wherever possible and save as much as you can. Even when you think you have pared everything back to the bone there is always something you could do to save further.KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -

Good Luck my dear. It's nice to hear how others plan on saving. Putting the spare cash from your purse away is a good idea.
I won an o line competition today. Came second and received a £50 Argos voucher. I plan on selling it on eBay as I've seen vouchers sell for nearly the exact value on there. Then I can use that on my debts.DEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £391119/4 £3108.93 :T 31/5 £3095.12

My Argos vouchers came through yesterday. As I want the money for them I'm selling them on eBay along with some other bits lying around my home. Hopefully if they all sell then I'll make over £100 and my January goal
I'm giving BubbleWS a break for now. The amount of likes and comments exceeds the amount earned by a fair bit. I tried bumping up the interest on my pages by adding personal videos but to no avail http://www.bubblews.com/news/9790069-vlog-my-favourite-books

FLYING TOWARDS MY GOAL!!!
I managed to pay off another £150 taking my debts down to £3756 .. how you ask? Extra money from work. This January I'm getting paid 3 times so basically one whole wage packet is mine to do with as I please. Half of it I've used to pay off some of my debts, the other half will come at the end of the month.
I've got to say that my goal of reaching £3000 by August is looking reachable now. I hope I can exceed it. This diary is really what's keeping me on track. I know not many people read it but it's for my own sanity honestly xxDEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £391119/4 £3108.93 :T 31/5 £3095.12

It's the end of the month so where am I with my finances and what have I been doing to pay off debts?
My debts are now £3700.03
So I managed to shave another £56 off this month on top of everything else. In total for this January I have paid off £206 which has exceeded my £113 monthly goal. That is one weeks wage!!
I'm over the moon and already have money in my Paypal to take out towards my February goal.
Basically I found the extra money from being paid an extra week this Jan from work. Next month I won't have that luxury so I'll have to use eBay to sell stuff and work harder on my apps which I've kinda been ignoring.DEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £391119/4 £3108.93 :T 31/5 £3095.12

A new month and new debt
My car had to go into the garage yesterday and it end up costing me £189 just for a couple of new sensors! Which means my debt has now crept back up to £3911. I didn't use my credit card for it; I used my overdraft on my current account which I am now about -£800. The interest is much lower than my credit card. I really want to pay off my credit card first before worrying about getting out of my overdraft.
So somehow I've got to find a way to make that money back. I'm going to need to sell a lot of stuff I feel. The apps I use - VoxPop and CW - are around £3 each atm.
If anyone has any other ideas I'd appreciate it xxDEBT: 27/12 £4060  6/1 £3906  15/1 £3756 :T 30/1 £3700  7/2 £391119/4 £3108.93 :T 31/5 £3095.12

Bummer WfH, but on the other hand if you hadn't paid off so much the debt would be well above 4k - you are doing great!
I know you do full time, but is there any chance of a shift at a pub one evening a week, that would bring a bit extra in.0
