Perhaps a daft question but since they both show up when i log in to my Halifax online account...
Can you pay in to your Bank of Scotland account in a Halifax bank?
I would expect no, but like i say, since my BoS accounts are showing up when i log on to my Halifax account, i thought i'd just ask anyway.

It should work the same in reverse unless the Halifax branch is in Scotland.

Hmm well that's surprisingly helpful
Thanks. 0 -
Looks like they moved the goal posts.
Went in this morning to pay in, went straight to the self serve cash machine.
I forget word-for-word what the message was but it basically said i couldn't pay in there with that card.
I was paying in for my sister actually (who also has Halifax & BoS accounts) so i had to pay the money in to my Santander across the street & transfer to her via online banking.
Bit of a faff but same end result.0 -
I think you should have tried the counter.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »Looks like they moved the goal posts.

I'd have expected the paying in machine & the counter to offer the same service. After all, i was only paying in. Nothing technical.0

Except just about every transaction in a bank is "technical".JustAnotherSaver wrote: »I'd have expected the paying in machine & the counter to offer the same service. After all, i was only paying in. Nothing technical.
Use the counter next time.0 -
Really?PeacefulWaters wrote: »Except just about every transaction in a bank is "technical".
I'd have thought paying in would've been a simple thing to be done.
Wanting to start messing about with credit card details or mortgages on the other hand (for example) less so.0 -
They all need technical equipment.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »Really?

Yours was clearly a non-standard transaction across brands. A cashier could have sorted it for you.0
